Anybody looking forward to Bruce exiting?

Recommended Posts

Bruce could stay and complete the job but he should only be able to do that, if he comes to his senses and realises what a poison chalice of a job the Newcastle job is and realises he's on to a good thing here. We shouldn't keep a man here who doesn't want to be here and wishes to be elsewhere, only because Ashley refuses to pay the compensation to get him. If Bruce stays for the right reasons he could be forgiven and could still be the right man to get us up. But if Bruce does leave a new man could finish the job Bruce started.

If we got 5 million compensation and appointed Hughton, I’d be delighted

In my opinion Hughton is the better manager

If we got Hughton and were not a Penny better off, I would be happy with that.

Some of the stuff he had Brighton playing for a couple of seasons in this league was excellent.

If he came, which is debatable, he wouldn't be here long. More than likely if we bring in another manager near the end of their career, we'll be looking for another new manager this time next year or something. They could get us up but what if they don't? That short term thinking is going to make things worse in the long term. If Bruce goes, we should replace him with a younger more forward thinking appointment. Someone who could finish the job Bruce started, like Dean Smith did at Villa, but also be here more long term.

Agreed. As Brighton will find out this year when they get relegated for their short sightedness in getting rid of him even though he kept them in premier.

WHEN Bruce leaves we need to to quickly appoint a Manager with experience of getting teams promoted out of the Championship. We don't have time for giving someone a chance to build a team for the future.

We have an experienced Championship squad with a £10 million striker, who have underperformed.

We need someone to convince the players of that from day one, and hold them accountable. And I hope day one is not soon after tomorrow.

My main fear is Ashley tries to bully us and refuses to pay what we require to lose our entire coaching staff less than 3 weeks before a season starts, and walks away, then nobody will be happy.

Yep, just don't know who to call fat b@sterd

He doesn’t want to stay at Wednesday, he wants the Newcastle job

the only way he’d stay here is if they can’t reach a comp agreement , he won’t stay because he prefers us

That's perfect if they do get us up but what if they don't? Then what? Only 3 teams go up, it's not easy. If we get another experienced proven Championship specialist in or someone who is near the end of their career and they still can't get us up. We might be looking for another new manager this time next year.

I know he wants the Newcastle job but there is still time for him to be given advice, put off or to realise what a terrible job it is.

He shouldn't simply stay just because they refuse to pay up for him. He should stay for the right reasons or not stay at all. If he don't want to stay for the right reasons, then we should let him go for the right price or make him leave or something, and begin looking for someone who wants to be here and to finish the job he started here.

A bit cynical of me, but Bruce probably feels grieved for him not getting credit for his work at Villa going up.

Another chance swopping red wine in the big league.

Now he’s gifted that chance with his boyhood club, SWFC mean nothing to him now.

Just my thoughts

That's next season, we shouldn't be going into any season with the players or fans thinking promotion isn't possible, not with the current squad of players. The Manager would expect a three year contract in anycase, if we've competed then you go again in season two, hopefully with more room to manoeuvre financially in season two.

Yes we've cut the wage bill, but we had big contracts who weren't playing, hopefully we've added players who will play, and we'll have players progressing from the u23s into the first team again.

Frankly, with the way he's been backed,  it's a disgrace he's even asked to talk to them. They are Newcastle United, not Manchester United.

As simple as that I reckon

Not the first but, but boyhood club coming in for you and you’ll get to manage in the PL again.

imagine if you were a Wednesday fan managing mid table Ipswich, and then premier league Wednesday came in for you
