Why wasn't we dragging all these points up when we first signed him?  A week ago if anyone used these arguments against him they would have been shot down.  Strange how opinions can change so quickly.

Absolutely.

We knew we had to wait for him to become available.

IF ? i don't understand

What i wrote is just fact i heard Lipton say it on Brazils show last Monday teh Allardyce thing was revealed by Allardyce Thursday i have no way of knowing if Allardyce was being truthful but see no reason for him to lie

IF Allardyce was being truthful.

NUFC have denied making any offer to Allardyce.

Try and imagine a scenario whereby Allardyce and Bruce are mates.  NUFC fancy SB, they’ve told him this.  But NUFC don’t fancy the compensation either included in his contract or what the imagine Chansiri wants.  So SB gets his old mate Allardyce to concoct the whole thing and throw SBs hat into the ring to avoid SB airing his dirty washing up front.

he didn't he said its upto the clubs to come a compromise before anything happens

We should have nothing to compromise on. He signed a contract as our manager and as such we are wanting payment to the value of what that contract is worth in terms of us having to replace him once he breaks it  - which is what he wants to do.

What he should have said is that he is the manager of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club until such time as Newcastle can agree to the valuation that his current employers have of the contract that he agreed to sign just 6 months ago.

Just woke to read the interview that Bruce gave and how he talked to Newcastle "out of respect".

Well Why not show some respect to the man who fecking bent over backwards to get you, the man who allowed you to sun it up in the Caribbean before coming here, the man that has backed you and will continue to do so until the day you leave this great club.

My fecking blood is boiling, that's the most disrespectful thing he could have said or done and for me he is finished here.

A message to DC, continue to stick to your guns, get the best price you can for Bruce and his entourage and go and get a proper manager and gent named Chris Hughton.

I agree with all of that except I don't think Chris Hughton is the right man for the job. My feeling about Chris is that he's a similar manager as Bruce, a manager on the decline and near the twilight of their career. After Bruce, I think we need a younger more exciting manager, someone who wants to be here, on the rise rather than on the decline.

I can't believe how disrespectful Bruce as been to DC, especially after how respectful and patient towards Bruce, DC was when he allowed Bruce time off before he started here. We got caught up in the excitement of finally bringing in a proven Championship specialist, that we thought was the right manager to finally get us back up. That we were blinded by how disloyal, short termist and how much of a journeyman mercenary he actually is and has been throughout his managerial career.

It was bang out of order, disrespectful and calculated by both .Ashley and Bruce towards DC and our club. The way they planted the story in the media to bully and force DC into lowering the compensation fee. A rich Premier League club should be able to pay compensation,.it's peanuts to any Premier League club. DC is perfectly entitled and right to stand his ground firmly over the compo. Simply, if they want Bruce then they should pay up. Just because they're a Premier League club it doesn't mean we should bend over for them, the way Bruce is bending over for Ashley's Newcastle a badly run club and whose fanbase are strongly against Bruce. Shame on Ashley and Bruce for going behind DC's back and using the media to force DC's hand. Ashley is coming across as the slimy greedy tight fisted authoritarian sports shop tycoon that he is and it's easy to see why the Newcastle fans dislike him so much. Whilst Bruce is coming across as a washed up greedy journeyman mercenary manager on the decline, purely looking for his final large pay day.

Hats off to DC, take the greedy swines to the cleaners and don't let them get their way unless they cough up the full compo. DC's done absolutely nothing wrong over this. It's Ashley and Bruce who are in the wrong. Bruce should honour his contract and show more respect to DC and our club and only go if Ashley pays the full amount. F*** Ashley and Bruce, they're a perfect match for one another, a pair of greedy pigs.

I did earlier in the thread and it made no sense then either

Didn't say it wasn't but it wasn't altruistic either

Oh we knew the value of employing Bruce, that's why we gave him a contract which he signed.

He like anyone else is allowed to further his career as he sees fit.  I would think the majority of posters have applied for jobs whilst working.  He's only doing what everyone else does.

Most of us have to work out a period of notice.

In football it is a case of the new employer having to pay what the current employers value of the employee is.

Let’s not be too harsh on old ‘Brucie after all he has shown respect to Sheffield United, Huddersfield,Wigan,Crystal Palace,Birmingham,Sunderland,Hull,Aston Villa and the mighty Sheffield Wednesday. I hope he gets to continue his career of respect with Newcastle or any other club needing to be respected immediately.

Thats my position too

We as fans always want the guy in charge and the players to be as committed to the club as we are but in truth thats rarely the case it's just a job to them and if something better comes along they will go

TalkSport is little more than a tabloid in radio format most of the time. Take anything you get from there with a pinch of salt.
