TheEnchanter
This can't be true can it? If so pretty much every club in the Championship and below has made more money than us in transfer fees in the last couple of seasons alone nevermind 10 years. No wonder we are in an embargo.

Popular Post sonofbert2
It makes disturbing reading but is totally balanced out by the almost 1m for Stevie May. 1

Can tell Preston did that scrubber thing where they barter you down by about 10p right at the end after you've agreed the 6 figure fee. And of course we went for it.
briggowl
Not shocking, we don't sell players, they are family!! Keep up! It is mental however. Edited July 11, 2019 by briggowl
RichSheffWeds
It’s been a problem for a long time. We should have been selling players for good money. All part of a sensible strategy to make a club work. Losing big name star players might upset fans but it’s the right thing to do. Pigs and Norwich good examples recently who sold players for big money but still prospered.
Andrew_Owl
We sold Stevie May and Wiggins under DC.

Its shocked me a little that of the possibly hundreds and hundreds of players we've had here over a 10 year period that we've managed to make just £6m odd from 9 of them. You've got teams like Bristol City that have sold an unknown centre back for £13m alone this summer. Some lower league clubs have prospered much better with worse players than we've had to offer. Beighton Owl 87
Didn't realise we got anything for grant or spurr thought they were both released at the end of their contracts to be honest. Shocking the amount we sold Antonio for but decent money we received for stevie may. Does anyone know how much we paid for him has to be less than that surely? We allegedly around £900k for Stevie May so maybe we made a tiny profit.
Minton
In those 10 years, how many players did we sign for an actual fee? Between 2002/03 and 2014/15 we signed 12 players for a fee, for a total amount of just under £4m. I'll let that sink in for a minute. You can bang on about how we don't sell players, but for the first time in 2 decades we actually have players that are worth something.
Sonny
Not at all shocking, unfortunately. Decades of our budget and mentality being way out of synch.
Matt_1
Can we have a section dedicated to mudslinging at Chansiri? Why is it only when things are getting a bit bumpy do these threads pop up?
matthefish2002
It is a bit poor when asking fans to buy expensive tickets, kits, 1867 schemes and end up in an embargo when a couple of well timed player sales could solved the problem.

Turns out that it isn't as easy as people think to sell a player. And then you have to replace the player that leaves with someone of equal or better quality, and in the current market that's £15m+

Then gave him away for nothing during his best purple patch, and how Chris Turner insisted this was great business for Sheffield Wednesday?!
