Bruxit - let's hope that if it does happen, it is not a "no deal bruxit". :Chansiri:

Bruce isn't the cheap option in terms of compensation

According to one footy writer, he will have a get-out clause, compo would be next to FA

He’s not going anywhere. They won’t offer it and he won’t accept it if they do.

Depends how much they offer.  Double his contract and he like most people would snap their hands off.

Got a feeling this would be true, Bruce wouldn’t have committed himself to a club with our financial issues without an escape route.

If they make him a sensible offer he will be off. Hometown club , bigger club, In a league above . No brainier really . Still surprised they want him though tbh

According to the Sun via the BBC's gossip section online it says Rafa has been turning bosses off the job. He's supposedly told the likes of Arteta and Vieira to stay clear of it because of Ashley. It then goes on to mention Bruce being a Geordie...

Rafa quoted as saying he's had more meetings in the first week with his Chinese bosses than he had in 3 years at Newcastle.

Just playing devil's advocate, Bruce has nothing to loose by taking it. If there's naff all to spend and he's fired within 12 months his excuses are already in place and valid. He'd then walk away from football management with a sack full of cash. Thank you very much.

The overiding question is does he need the grief he'd get if it all goes boobies up very quickly. ?

Just looks like conjecture based on the odds and Bruce being a Geordie... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9473386/arteta-vieira-benitez-newcastle-bruce-talks/

Have a feeling if Bruce was offered it he would take it.
Increase in wages, home town club and maybe his last chance to manage in the Premier league. Might be frustrated at our embargo.
He has not killed the speculation as well.

They were speculating about it on talksport this morning.

If he goes just get Hughton in. Be sad to see him go tho.

He is the right fit for Wednesday. Not so sure if he is for Newcastle.

If it's got to be a Geordie, who have we got...

Shearer: assisted by Beardsley and Gazza.

Lee Clarke,

Phil Brown,

Chris Waddle (didn't he have a stint managing Bradford or sommat?)

Steve Harmison

Big Jack

Ant and Dec (can see Ant and Ashley enjoying an evening down the Bigg Market)

So, plenty to go at before reaching Stevie B.

...and does he need the grief he’d get from the word go.

Lot of assumptions about what Bruce wants/would accept/put up with in this thread (not you!). Most of the time making anything but a factual statement would have some usual suspects jumping all over it with pointless questions.

As ever, we’ll see.

Looking forward to walking the dog.  That has to be code for something.

I was told it's phrase that husbands say to their wife when they want to go out and have one or few Newcastle Brown Ale

Oh you sweet, innocent soul.

If the worst comes to the worst, Hillsborough Mole will reappear suggesting Lee Cattermole as player-manager.

They are rapidly running out of options. Hence the bookies see an opportunity to fleece those who part with their money easily.

Could be famous last words but there seems like nought to worry about unless they make an official approach. It's just speculation and conjecture on the bookies odds and Bruce seems to have just shrugged it off and carried on knuckling down with the job he's already got. Even if he's offered it would he go there as their 150th choice and with the fans against him from being our 1st choice and loved by our fans?

  • Thanks 1

Yeah, he's a statto. Only bets on Rugby union, never known him call it wrong. That season he got us all 20/1 for London Welsh to get relegated about 5 years ago was a highlight.

But back to matters in hand, would you bet in this market unless you were given the right info ?

I am horse racing would not say I never get it wrong but it is easy money. I packed in my IT job as I cold earn more. Only problem it is a solitary job mostly on line.
