Haven't people been banging on about selling players to balance the books? Now we are effectively selling an asset to another club and people are losing their sheeeeet, DC can't win can he?

It's all very strange now.

Surely if no compo has been agreed, he's not officially allowed to speak to them? Yet we have loads of reports that talks have been held and Bruce has told DC he wants out.

Some very mixed messages coming from everywhere.

Bruce and his agent have been into Newcastle since Benitez left touting for the job, plenty of reasonably sound reports that talks have taken place.

All down to compensation and a formal approach setting out their offer of compensation. Ashley won't want to pay and DC doesn't blink in negotiations, we know that. So, if it does go through, they've paid what we wanted.

We must be looking for a replacement now and ready to appoint swiftly, like Derby did.

No harm done in that scenario. Crack on as planned. I'd be delighted if his move to Newcastle falls through. Proper manager we've needed for a long time. Can't see it though. It's haggling from both sides, but bottom line is Bruce has been offered and wants to go.

Says who? Seriously? Unless you are relying on what's reported in newspapers? If he goes fair do but so far on actual real life he's still working at Wednesday.

Reasonably sound reports? Really? Really though?

Chairman has massively dug his heels in here

And so he should.

Bruce was happy to sign his contract and presumably made Newcastle aware of the compensation he agreed with Chansiri when discussing the role with them.

If they don't want to pay that, then they can look elsewhere.

I really can't see Chansiri budging.

You get impression MA will be a bit of a bully aswell, seems our chairman may not be as ‘inept’ or stupid as some think he his

The problem is the game is corrupt .. you can’t be waiting around for ‘official statements’ these days , it’s not how the game works , the people who have been openly talking about this know what goes on

I do think DC is fairly inept. But for once it could work to our advantage. NUFC are desperate to get a new gaffer in. We hold all the cards here, including the card which tells you how to play the game.

I’m going to be slightly controversial here ... if he stays, for whatever reason, but most likely Fat Mike is unprepared to meet the terms of SB’s release, SB is a consummate professional and will do his utmost to bring success to SWFC.   Having worked with him for 6 months, seen him in at the training ground earlier than most other recent managers, I think DC knows this too.

Said earlier on in this thread that this hasn't happened over the last coming days

Low and behold - he's been tapping Ashley up for months way before Rafa packed his bags - giving us all the hype and love in for Wednesday next season and he's leaving us high and dry

Grade A f*cking t0sspot - good riddance, anyone else who wishes him well needs their head checking

...and how do you know that is true? Some bloke on Twitter?

C'mon now... Bruce wants it. He's been ferried around chauffeur driven by Newcastle. Only way this breaks down is if Ashley refuses to stump up - which is possible. In truth, they've been chasing Gerrard, Vieira, Arteta, Martinez, Allardyce, and gawd knows who else. I suspect Steve Bruce wants Newcastle Utd. more than Newcastle Utd. want Steve Bruce. That is what could work in our favour.
