Steve Bruce favourite for Newcastle job

Recommended Posts

Bloody annoying this - they are probably the only Prem team who would give him a job and it’s his club - if Ashley wasn’t selling he wouldn’t even consider Bruce and will probably offer him a lot but not as much as a big name it’s the new owner who will have to pay him off so Ashley won’t care perfect storm of bad luck for us

100%

And then we've only got him on a one year rolling contract too which means less £££ in compo too

Ironically the biggest problem now would be Bruce changing his mind.

Yep your right - we need a good man manager now who is well respected to keep the annoyed players happy - or we’ve had it

Re: The next

manager?

Does Bruce fully appreciate what he's getting himself into? In his shoes I'd steer well clear of Newcastle. He'll be barracked by the fans, likely disrespected by demotivated players, not given funds to sign anyone beyond the usual bare minimum loans, watch us get bulldozed by every club until he gets sacked in March next year probably. Is Shef

It would be a weird one.

We’d be wary of Bruce, and Newcastle fans would like him more for turning down Ashley.

Been an owl all my life and seen great and bad times with them.it don't make me want to manage them as job would be too close to home and wouldn't want it to end in failure and be hounded out of the club I love

The grass sometimes ain't greener on the other side mr Bruce

It would be a big loss (feel like it is already in a way) but we’ve been pants for 20+ years.... what’s a few years more.

Funny how things turn. If Bruce goes to Newcastle, we and apparently Newcastle fans will eventually burn him. If Bruce says he's not going to Newcastle, or doesn't even comment the issue at all but Newcastle appoint someone else, we will burn him anyway. He can't actually win in any case, unless you consider only money. I would still expect him to have a nice pile of it already though, and he can easily get a few high-salary jobs before really retiring from the game.

It does happen in business and even in business it raises an eyebrow when you’ve only been in your current job for 2 seconds.

This... I've been in business in a modest way... people seem to think when big money is thrown about it's like the wolf of wall Street... it's mainly done on trust and you soon get a name for yourself if you break that trust.

I don't think another owner will ever trust Bruce again so he'd better fill his boots.

Btw... for all the Judas talk...RA is worth ten of SB imo..

How would everyone feel if Bruce goes and we get £3m compensation and we appoint Hughton this weekend?

If we shift Rhodes out on loan as appears to be the objective, that would make a big difference too. Perhaps Winnall too.

One big sale of Joao or Reach would give the most wriggle room.

ive just looked at accounts they are mind blowing wages  we had a 42 million wage bill over 14 months so that be appx 35 million over 12 months that's upto summer 2018 ,what we have done from july 31st 2018 to july 31st 2019 is critical we may have to sell 8 million worth of players to balance the accounts to avoid ffp next summer ,but we are allowed from aug 1st to spend the cash and it wont effect us at all ,whats chansiri going to do next sell bannan for 10 million to some Chinese outfit and buy him back 2 days later? crazy thing is we are defo not going to spend any cash upto july 31st but aug 1st onwards we can , if we got a decent offer for any of our players and get 5 million for bruce that would work into the accounts to stop us been in trouble next summer. in other words rake some money in this month and spend loads of dosh next month.
