What will most likely happen is:

Bruce will go and we get a bit of cash (MA might think he can get away with paying us less cash than we deserve).

Or

Bruce stays and acts like no one contacted him (but the dodgy world of football probably says otherwise).

It will be scenario one - with Bruce then sacked by Easter at the latest while we are languishing in lower mid table, leaving all parties with disappointment.

the odds on Chansiri making two good appointments in a row are minimal.

This is pretty depressing stuff

Nearly as minimal as the odds of finding a bit of loyalty from a manager when someone is waving a quick short term buck at em

I could think of worse appointments than Big Sam if he wanted it.  He's a man manager, would probably convince Strudwick to stay as they Allardyce is huge advocate of sports science and analysis and the impact of pre season might not be as great.  He'd be equally as connected in football circles to know the players that are required, I don't think he is a million miles away from SB's style of play either.  Short term deal, big bonus for promotion...I'm clutching at straws really but whoever comes in if SB leaves needs to be experienced in Championship football.  This will be no job for somebody to find their feet.

Reading whats been in the Chronicle about the takeover at NUFC , sounds more like a panic appointment to stop the price of the sale going down.

It should be stressed there are other parties talking to Newcastle but with just four weeks until the start of the season – and barring a dramatic development in the coming days – it now raises the prospect of no change of ownership in time to impact on this season.

Instead it could drag into the campaign with potential for other interested parties to come back to the table with Ashley lowering the price based on the potential risk of relegation. The alternative – that Ashley takes the club off the market – was raised last year but the owner seems reluctant to do that for now, and Newcastle must be braced for a furious fan backlash after a summer of discontent on Tyneside.

Against that backdrop, punters have begun to place money on United to go down. Bet365's Steve Freeth said: "Newcastle are the best backed team in the Premier League Relegation market by a considerable margin. They've come in from 10/3 to 11/4.

Everyone else seems to have the sense to say no due to being put off by how Rafa was treated, Ashley and the toxic dejected atmosphere of a fanbase fed up of Ashley and his buddies. You'd think Bruce would have the sense to say no or would be put off it too even despite being a fan?

Allardyce would not come - nor, even if he was interested, would we be able / willing to afford his wages.

Take a step back from being a Wednesday fan and see this for what it is. You're boyhood club desperately want you to manage them in front of 60k fans in the Premier League.

He is a decent man and I'm sure he will be torn about going and I for one will miss his honest pressers and feel good factor he was bringing. Even with a limited squad I fancied us to challenge this year.

With the same squad under a different lesser manager, like the previous 2 we could be in big big trouble now

The Championship experience thing I feel will be the most important thing we need. They need to know our squad and what needs adding too straight away.

I wonder if Big Jack would have left us if Newcastle had come calling? Back then perhaps we were the bigger club?

Maybe the lure of your local club is always a pull no matter the financial side of things.
