York_Owl
Makes it very difficult for us to comply with FFP when Premier League Clubs are pulling stunts like this. As a minimum we should be able to offset the £2m we should have received as part of the calculation for FFP.

KivoOwl
David Hirst's legend status is set in stone. Regarding George, we've only heard one side of the story of why he left SWFC - I thought we would have heard the Hirst side by now, but maybe it will never be made public. I'm pretty sure it was a complete balls up up by club and player. I wish George all the best - mistakes have been made, life moves on. He might be back at Wednesday one day, you never know. Just not while Chansiri is here.
steelcityowlsfan
Let's be honest, nobody will lose sleep if he fails. There are very few players who show loyalty in football. Hirst wanted the Man Utd move but Richards denied him the chance. Any current player would leave us for a PL team too. Whether it's money or a better team or league they will go. There is lots of attrition in football much as there is in any big business. It's natural but as our money goes partly towards funding player wages we feel a sense of entitlement. Today's hero is tomorrow's villain until the next hero comes along.

They went bankrupt, cleared all their debts. Then spent like crazy and got promoted. Disgraceful. (This was prior to Milan)

Kanye West
Leicester have spent £30m on Perez and are in for £40m rated Tielemans, yet they use a dirty tactic like this for what to them will be a pennies. Pure greed, nothing else.

Except this exploitation directly effects another team financially, whereas what we are supposedly looking at doing doesn’t. They’ve already spunked a load on on Perez this window, but don’t have the funds to pay out a bit of compo to us, quite scummy really.

basegreenowl
Same age as Vardy when he started off at Stocksbridge (20 years). Then Vardy stepped up the ladder Halifax (23 years), Fleetwood (24 years) and then Leicester (25 years). According to Wiki. 66 goals in 107 appearances for Stocksbridge btw. Maybe they hope similar for him. If so expect even a loan out to some low level club for starters. Maybe not Stocksbridge but they'll make a mistake chucking him in a high league for starters on loan. Remember all that talk of him going to Rotherham on loan when he was with us. Will the knees last out though over a stretch of years? He's just another player out there. No point it concerning anyone. The club of ours keeps rolling and the many players shift in and out. TrickyTrev
I have no issues with a young player wanting to better himself and earn more money. George Hirst wanted a wage we couldn’t give him but Leicester City could, that’s fair enough. But if that is the case, sign for Leicester. Don’t go out of your way to spend a year in Belgium just to screw the club over that developed you into the player you are out of compensation they are rightfully owed. Coincidentally this is also the club he “claims” to support. Thats what I have a problem with and it says an awful lot about George Hirst. I would add however, George has wasted the last 2 years of his career, the first sat around doing nothing and the second playing in the Belgian second division where his goals to games ratio was nothing short of pathetic. Just because his dad was good, that’s no guarantee he will be too and Dejphon Chansiri was absolutely right not to offer him a first team wage.
