Understand why people are getting a bit upset here, David Hirst is a legend for this football club make no bones about it

People jumping to conclusions left right and centre though,  not a chance does anyone on here know what went on behind closed doors , people using it as a stick to beat Chansiri might wanna remember Hirsty snr is more than free and able to come back and clear his name if what Chansiri said was wrong or hasn’t given the full story

Been nowt heard from the bloke since he walked out on his academy job cus getting George a deal was interfering, would a club legend not wanna clear his name

I'm happy to jump to the conclusion that it's possible to be a legend and a right 2hat at the same time!

Appreciate your comments LCFC.

Just goes to show how money has screwed football. Unfortunately your unexpected Premier League win has only served to make the big money clubs spend more and makes the gulf even bigger.

I am not alone either, a fair few on foxestalk dont like how we handled this transfer.

How do you know the financial details of his contract , is this common knowledge or guesswork ?

There was a statement from Chansiri

Chansiri, who claimed a contract offer to Hirst “broke our current salary structure for the development squad on a level never previously matched”

Football is completely different to any other trade and you and everyone else knows it. If you're a skilled workman on say £17.50 an hour st one firm and another offers you a £4 pay rise then joure gonna move, that's not being greedy that's smart and its life.

Its a job to many ... a job that is detached from reality at times but a job non the less ..

if someone is offering you more money and you are happy to leave .. f*ck it you'll go .. look at players that move to China or the states but could still do a job in their domestic league... look at players leaving Scotland for more money playing for Salford etc ..

Some move where the money is.. yes sometimes it stinks, or shows a lack of loyalty but fizz it, some players careers are short lived. you soak up what you can like anyone

would.

The frustating thing for me and loopholes that are exlpoited by many clubs - it is them we should be venting our anger and frustrations at ..

Instead of moaning about the loop hole we should just be doing a similar thing ourselves assuming that Chansiri is still saying he’d chuck millions at us if he was allowed.

Buy Bangkok United or the likes for a few dollar and then get them to buy Fox and Nuhiu for £80 million a piece

FFP sorted and half of Owlstalk can gloat about one of them in particular being one of the highest value players ever

Whats not to like

Before this Hirst thing even materialised last year, I wondered why more Championship clubs, who have wealthy owners and wish to get round the stupid P&S rules, haven't done this.

As for the Hirst move, a free transfer is a big two fingers up to the footballing authorities in this country to get round the youth compensation rules that exist - Leicester could have at least made it look genuine by paying a fee to their Belgium sisters!

Maybe Leicester didn't fancy him and would only do the deal on these terms. Wasn't Pearson in charge at the Belgian club when this went through?

A favour for an old mate perhaps?

You do know that Leicester owners own the Belgian club though....don't you....?

Yes, my point was that maybe Leicester weren't mad keen on him, but would take him for next to nowt if Hirst Snr. and Pearson sorted it out. Hence the apparent great lengths they went to to avoid paying out a couple of million for him.

I.e. maybe Hirst wanted Leicester more than Leicester wanted Hirst

Why are we even giving this situation the time of day?? The whole scenario is rotten...both the player and the clubs involvement in this was nothing short of idiotic.

next...…..

Stop replying then!

Then don’t sell him and lose him for nothing.

we knew the deal, what we ended up doing is getting nothing, meh it doesn’t really matter now, I won’t ever blame a footballer for choosing g better offers in this day and age, purely because clubs don’t show any loyalty back.

What leicester have done is shocking, what we did to Hirst jnr was shocking.

It was all shocking

You sound shocked
