The videos of Stevie May made him look like Shearer before we signed him....so you can’t judge him until he played in a proper league.

But this lad is not gonna look any worse in coming seasons with better teammates and the same opposition.

If he was that good, he wouldn’t be going to Celtic.

If Celtic were that great, they wouldn't have Lennon as manager.

I beg to differ go back and watch his goals the season he signed for us I’ve never seen some one score 30 goals and still look rubbish, he miss hit the majority and kicked the floor on a quarter. Exactly how he played with us.

60000 every other week most weeks away be lucky to get 15000!

To put the Scottish Premier League into perspective, seven of the twelve teams had an average of less than 7,000 in season 2018-19. Only two had average attendances of over 18,000 and no prizes for guessing which.

Agree with that but a top class footballer is hardly going to be testing himself in the SPL is he

I think it's seen as a stepping stone the English Premier League.

Scottish players seem to from the Scottish Prem to 'up and coming' clubs..
Andy Robertson to Hull and then to Liverpool.
Ryan Fraser to Bournemouth and now seemingly (and deservedly) headed to a top 6 club.
Stuart Armstrong from Celtic to Southampton.
and recently McGinn to Villa and McLean to Norwich.

van Dijk went from Celtic to Southampton, then on to Liverpool.
Wanyama went from Cetlic to Southampton as well, then to Spurs.

Dembele went from Cetlic to Lyon, and is now rumoured with a top 6 move.

So while the Scottish Prem is by no means a top end competitive league, it gets you seen and gets you a move if you shine. Compare it with sitting in Chelsea's reserves for 6 years getting the odd loan to a Belgian side that no one watches.

It's fairly easy to understand why Turnbull would choose Celtic, where he's got a decent chance of forcing his way into the side given that Brown is 34 and Rogic always gets a 3 month rest in the middle of the season with a knee or ankle problem. If he can go there, get games, maybe a handful in the Champions League, then he's setting himself up for a move that puts him in the starting 11 of an EPL side. His alternative was Norwich's reserves.. which can't be appealing, or us.

And there's a pub quiz question.. who was the last wednesday player who left and immediately started regularly in the english premier league?

Wiggins mysteriously went to Bournemouth.. don't think he really played at all..
Antonio went to Forest first. Whelan and Brunt both went to clubs in the championship before going up.
Do we have to go all the way back to like.. Niclas Alexandersson?

How much first team experience does he have?

Very little, and he spent lots of time out injured as well. If he wasn't I'm quite sure we wouldn't have any chance to bring him in on loan as he would have been fairly important part of Brighton's first team by now.

No need to answer @malek I've just Googled.

Not one game at senior level, and he's going to improve our midfield?

:tango:

I'm of that opinion after watching him play at underage level.

Easy to name someone who played 40 games and scored 20 goals already in his career.

It is point to note good player before there is long list of clubs looking to bring him in.

David Turnbull's move to Celtic could be off as issue uncovered in medical

DAVID Turnbull’s move to Celtic could be off after an issue was uncovered in his medical.

Both clubs are now in negotiations to find a solution that is best for all parties, but the move could now be in serious jeopardy of not going ahead.
