The FA have issued the following statement at 4.00pm today:

Sheffield Wednesday FC player Fernando Forestieri has today been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3.

It is alleged that words he used during a friendly fixture against Mansfield Town FC on 24 July 2018 breached Rule E3[1] as they were abusive and/or insulting.

It is further alleged that the words constituted an ‘aggravated breach’, which is defined in Rule E3[2], as they included reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race.

Forestieri has until 14 June 2019 to respond to the charge.

So...he’s had a 3 match ban, been acquitted in a court of law.  But 10 months on and the FA have decide to charge him?

What a load of crap.

He’s been found not guilty in a court of law. There was no evidence to backup the claims. The ref didn’t hear anything, no witnesses, no video evidence.

So what’s the point?

From BBC sport website re John Terry case.

"Unlike in Terry's court case, the prosecution never had to prove intent, merely that certain words were used, so this verdict was no surprise.

So it seems the FA are indeed above the law. Terry was found not guilty in a court in July and was charged by the FA in September so why this has taken so long is anybody's guess?

Who would not foresee yet another season starting with a circus surrounding Forestieri?

Injured, suspended or unhappy.

the continual targetting of Forestieri is getting stupid.

I know he does not help himself but no other player gets singles out so much.

After the brawl at Mansfield nearly a year ago the FA are still hounding him even when found not guilty in court.

I really don't get this. He is effectively been tried 3 times for the same thing. 3 match ban, court case and now this.

Surely a decent lawyer would get this kicked out but with the idiots running football, I'm not so sure.

I always thought that if an incident wasn't included in the referees report that was the end of it or was it in fact mentioned?

The three-game ban was for violent conduct, which Fessi accepted, for the two-footed challenge.

He was cleared in court due to a lack of evidence, but FA can rule on balance of probability and the judge made reference to not been convinced of the case against him rather than fully believing in his innocence.

That said, it seemed to come down only to one guy's word against another so it's a really difficult one for the FA either way.

Cleared in a court of law but charged by the Mickey Mouse club that is the FA.

They make the rules up as they go on to suit their own agenda's.

The English FA, UEFA and FIFA are all pen pushers who know nowt about our game.
