Does anyone actually enjoy women’s football or do they make out they enjoy it because it’s feels like it would be a good idea to enjoy it?

The goalkeepers worry me. Remind me of Belgians in Its a Knockout wearing big Kenny Everett foam hands.

I remember the Aussie women’s side who were ranked 5th in the world at the time (2016 ish)  playing a pre season friendly against a local Aussie lads under 16’s team. The lads won 7-0.

Good luck Lucy and to England. I’ve run and coached girls football for 5 years now and I certainly know of 14 girls who are looking forward to this World Cup.

You certainly wont see the diving and cheating you see in the men’s game.

That’s because they play at like 1/100th of the speed of the men’s game, even if they wanted to cheat it wouldn’t look plausible

Wow, you really are into Women’s football!!! That’s some niche stuff you’re watching there.

Why not give it a chance? You might be pleasantly surprised, standards have improved significantly over recent years.

Having had the ex missus and an ex girlfriend who played for years. Nikki has just retired now, played for Leeds ladies.I'm still good mates with (used to play 5-a side with us during the summer.

I've seen a lot of the womens football these last 7/8 years and enjoyed the last World Cup and euros.while I agree the standard in general has come on leaps and bounds especially with some proper professionals involved now.

The only negative I will say is the standard of goal keeping is generally still not very good though, but does make it more enjoyable with more goals.

Lived in Aus for a while fella. I like to catch up on what’s going off down there now and again.

The live surf cam at Manly beach is a particular favourite of mine believe you me!

There was a bit of a debate in the sports pages arguing that it wasn’t  worth spending money on the 5th best women’s football team when they get trounced by a bunch of 15 year old  local lads

Agreed, still a way to go with this - maybe the standard of specialist coaching needs to be improved.

I quite like watching it when England play, you have to take it for what it is and not compare it mens football.

A mate of mines daughter plays for Man Utd (Amy Turner) and I think has made the England squad and another bloke who played badminton at the same club as me his sister is at Lyon, has previously won the Womens pfa player of the yearand got in the last World Cup select 11 (Lucy Bronze).

I believe by strange coincidence Lucy kept Amy out of the England starting 11.

Remember seeing Tom play. Looked decent. Shame what happened to him. Didn’t he have Sideshow Bob hair?

Was going to break into the first team that year apparently. Always looked good when I saw him.

People pretend to enjoy it for equality purposes, imo of course

Unfortunately I think you’re right.

You get castigated if you say you don’t enjoy watching it. Personally I don’t really watch it as it’s just like slow motion men’s football

Same with women’s cricket. Can’t watch that either. Or golf come to think of it.

Obviously I’m just a tw@!

Think Womens footy is decent to watch and admire effort and dedication the players have to put in to make the England side.

But this is just stupid: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48535933

Mens game has more prize money because more people want to watch so generates more revenue with TV, sponsorship and spectators.

If say womens tennis produced more revenue then mens game I think women should be paid more.

Supply supply and demand.
