To anyone that enjoyed this, can I also recommend 'The Dawn Wall' on Netflix.

Equally tense, equally stunning filming and an even more gripping narrative/back story.

If someone pitched you Tommy Caldwell's story, you'd say it was too fanciful.

Just watched it with my daughter and I we were absolutely enthralled.

Struck me as a bit of a t!t though, on a more personal level

Why?

Cos of the way he was with his bird?

Maybe u mean somink else but Ive heard this said alot but i dont get it.

She met him at his book signing and left her number with him with full knowledge of what he does.. So dont then get with him and try and change who he is. Live with it or get out of there.

Hes as honest as they come. Maybe too honest but thats who he is.

the world would be a miles better place if more folk were like that, rather than untruths and bs. Hes just saying it how it is, not to hurt feelings, but cos thats how it truthfully is.

Or maybe its the giving a 3rd of his wages away (approx £750k) to make solar power in homes in the 3rd world that make him a bit of a t!t?

Im not havin a pop at u here btw, everyone likes diff types dont they.

Im just genuinely interested in what it is about him that u dont like, cos i think hes a great guy whos misunderstood.

He obviously struggles to make emotional connections with people and communicating his own emotions.

His father suffered with Aspergers and I'd be surprised if Alex were not displaying similar symptoms.

His father 'had' aspergers but didnt   'suffer' from it.

For many, aspergers is a gift not a curse.

But you r correct that alex is on the spectrum. Its what makes him who he is.

I just dont see the bit were he is a ''t!t'.

Apologies... yes you are right. That was clumsily put by myself.

And obviously I'm not saying he is a ***, quite the opposite in fact.

difficult to put my finger on it.

Said as much to out lass as i we were watching it, then turns out he does loads for charity (as you said) and i thought id misjudged him perhaps. By the end i thought he was a t!t again. I suspect its just his general demeanour. Im not losing any sleep over this kid - hes great at what he does, it was an interesting show, but i had great trouble warming to him. Suspect he does need that outlook to be able to do what he does, but i found him apparently lacking in the many of the qualities that i like in humans
