Slight variation on the question but one of the best individual performances at Hillsborough has to be Jordan Rhodes, the Englishman who qualifies for Scotland because he lived there for a while, in the game in December 2011 when he scored all four goals for his team!

lol

For us Waddle a magician. Against us in one game Collymore for Forest.  Against us regular Shearer. Always seemed to score.

I remember us playing QPR and Peter Crouch banged in a hat trick. We simply couldn't handle him.

Am I right in thinking that Michael Owen still holds the title for youngest player to score a hat-trick in Prem?

Stan Mathews of Blackpool and Pele twice although neither did a great deal in the games I saw.

Best Law and Charlton were unstoppable in the first half of the 5-4 win in 1968.

Best one I've seen live is Paul Gascoigne.

Fantastic footballer.

Disappointing human being.

He didn't,  we won 5-2 and he scored 2. Sibon scored a hat trick.

Crouch did look good though, and he was still only a teenager.

For us: Either Chris Waddle or David Hirst

Best visiting player at Hillsborough: Gazza when he came and ripped us a new one

Gazza just before the World Cup simply brilliant by far the best player I’ve seen live and probably would be had we been in the top division ever since a genius

Based on performances against us in particular:

Gazza

Owen

Lineker

Le Tissier

Based on what they achieved in the game (and still usually played decent against us)

Keegan (Only saw him the once when he played for Newcastle and was past his best but I think that was the first time I ever saw a really big name play against us, which was exciting. He scored a pen and we won 4-2)

Shilton

Robson

Shearer

Beckham

Scholes

Beardsley

Hoddle

Wilkins

Lampard

Gazza had the skill, flair and ability to be the best ever. From 1988/89 he had a period of about three years where he was beyond compare until he got that major knee injury against Forest in the FA Cup Final (?). If only he had the support and right management - he was in football twenty years too early in that respect; the only support he got was from that Jimmy “Five Bellies” and that was just supporting him at the bar.

The press, tv and football shamelessly milked Gazza for all they could.
