Shaw strike has a chance of winning goal of the month

Recommended Posts

Young Owls midfielder Liam Shaw has been nominated for the League Football Education Goal of the Month award for April.

The 18-year-old’s strike against Coventry, which came during a 2-0 win for the Owls Under-18s, is up for the monthly accolade.

Shaw was part of the Wednesday Under-18s side crowned National champions at the end of the 2018/19 season after beating Cardiff 3-2 in the play-off final at Hillsborough.

The playmaker also helped the young Owls to the title of the U18 Professional Development League North in an unforgettable season for the club’s academy.

Shaw’s performances for Wednesday’s younger sides saw him handed a first team squad number as well as being named in matchday squads.

To be fair, it would be a travesty if Shaw won. Both Preston goals, the Donny goal and the Gillingham goal are all better.

Very true. Still voted for our lad though.
