Colin Dobson
In the desperate days in the 1970’s I started to watch Barnet(I lived close by in those days)in the Southern League(they played some terrific football although a tad inconsistent at times). The whole Wednesday meltdown in those days was so horrendous that watching the “Bees” was something of an antidote. No one can replace the Owls of course but you can imagine who I was supporting at Bramall Lane in January!
matthefish2002
I think wanting to Liverpool to miss out yesterday comes from the supporters sense of entitlement. That somehow the many people who have no real links with Merseyside but support the club have a sense of moral superiority. Man United fans have this or used to but they can back it up but actually winning the league most years.

HighworthOwl
I love watching the way these "fans" of the money clubs behave when they start to struggle (that's coming 5th/6th apparently). The Arsenal fans at work after years of throwing abuse at Spurs fans really can't take it now. They used to love "banter" when they were winning but they turn nasty very quickly now the shoe is on the other foot. I look out for the scores of mates teams but I don't really care if they win or lose. Weirdly i I did cheer city's third on Sunday. I didn't think I cared but clearly I was happier than expected that Liverpool wouldn't win the title.

You can have teams you want to see do well, like I'll always look out for Rangers results. Agree with this, there is a whole world of difference between supporting a team and wanting another to do well. I've had a soft spot for Liverpool ever since 1971, but I've only ever seen them play v Wednesday who are (football wise) the love of my life. Even out here, when I go to watch Real Salt Lake (local team) I'll cheer them on but I don't have any emotional attachment to them like I do Wednesday. Wednesday can make me happy, sad, angry, downright depressed and literally move me to tears (both joy and sadness). No other club team could ever have that effect on me......................in any sport. WAWAW.
Dandrewchaz
Weds or Sheffield FC for me. Rather than support I've got teams I prefer in each city. Villa over Brum, Rangers over Celtic, City over Utd, AC over Inter.......

Mr Mercury
No other English team interests me to "support" them, no way, never - Just Wednesday. Want the pigs to lose every game but wouldn't say I would ever "support" the opposition. The only other team I have supported (& still do) is Rangers. Few of us lads been up to Ibrox a number of times when Weds fixtures & time allows.

I have been Wednesday for 60 years - and that's never gonna change.. not missed a game this season (I follow is the business) and the last one I was at was Wembley in 16. I always prefer Yorkshire sides to win with the exception of United and Leeds. Wasn't even too fussed about United going up since they were up against Leeds. Always look out for Lincoln's results because of Uni. What seems to have become a new thing in recent years is people supporting teams in other countries. Not just enjoying watching them but up to the stage where their results affect their life. I can't get my head around that. Only Wednesday (or whichever first team you support) should be the only one who causes that emotion IMO. Each to their own though. Who am I to judge? Having been lucky enough to grow up watching Wednesday with the likes of Hirst, Waddle, Sheridan and Nilsson when I was at school, seeing Terry Yorath's failed efforts taken over by Chris Turner who led us to the 2nd worst ever league position in our history nearly put me off football for life! Don't get me wrong I was still making the journeys to the illustrious football hot spots of Port Vale, Chesterfield and Stockport to see us get turned over but I needed something to provide an antidote. Having watched a bit of Barcelona in the 90's under Bobby Robson with Ronaldo and having been to the city and the stadium I started watching them more regularly on TV at the time when they had just bought Ronaldinho to try and turn around their fortunes. I've watched them regularly since then and taken the chance to go and watch Messi live a few times though I would never consider missing a Wednesday game to do so. When we eventually make it back to the big time I will be 100% behind us should we get the opportunity to claw back a 3-goal deficit to them in a champions league semi final. Also don't mind seeing Sociedad do well due to the blue and white stripes and the Dalian Atkinson link so enjoyed their result yesterday.

I had a pair of Wednesday shorts on and one chap told me it was bad form to wear British colours. Got chatting to him, he was a west ham fan and he was going to the game with his Millwall mates. Said that when they went back to the UK they did not speak to each other. Should’ve smashed him and chanted “Wednesday aggro, Wednesday aggro...” before windmilling into his Millwall “mates”. Whitecap Owl
Well for me it's SWFC (born into the club and will always support them good or bad...(usually bad))... My "adopted" team is Vancouver Whitecaps - another blue and white team!! Season Ticket holder for 12 Seasons now!! In England - soft spot for Grimsby Town - in memory of my best friends mom Rita (RIP)... Supporting teams in UK and North America means football 12 months of the year!!!
