If we got around £4 million. We wouldn't be making a loss on paper. As his fee is spread across his contract with ffp.

You couldn’t make it up lol just been promoted to the Prem yet want to buy a past it, league 1 level striker

The gods are certainly shining on us if this comes off

To think we could just about break even on this deal is utterly insane. Seems to be something in it though.

Just the small matter of having to sell our ground to get round the FFP problems it (in part) has caused but there we go.

Ok Chansiri didn't say nobody earns more than £35,000 a week at the forum,he's lying.................................i mean he's gotta be right, what with all these other people saying so.

What don't you understand about what im saying? If it was during his loan at Norwich then Chansiri can say that and it can be completely true.....it's not rocket science mate...come on

From memory, it was at a forum the season before last (2017-18).

Maybe on Planet Wednesday but here on earth a tangible asset is valued in accounts at cost (£10 million for Rhodes) -or any revaluation-  and any profit or loss on its sale goes directly into accounts.

It's why Chelsea make so much dosh via their academy, and Blades on Brooks, McGuire et al.

Yes if we ignore how it works for ffp.

Any legit. income / profit from player / tangible asset sales (including  stadium) goes to accounts and so benefits FFP.

It's how clubs like Brentford and Barnsley survive / thrive (eg Blades).

If Chansiri had took £12 million for Fessi, £3.5 m for Westwood, £3 m for Hirsty, etc, we wouldn't now be flogging Hillsborough.

And could afford Powell.

That's all good and well, providing the actual bids of that kind were made, not just paper talk of "might offer".

Don't forget the ones we don't know about.

Player trading for profit aint hard - see Brunt, Mahjid, etc. or Blades' example.

Just seen this!

£72K a week! No wonder Norwich are baulking at the £7M pricetag. I don't believe we could be that stupid.

Talking of which, I had to join a Norwich news site to comment on stupid stuff the Norwich fans were saying the other day about Jordan Rhodes price etc. I know every club has it's brain-dead section, but honestly it was like talking to a bag of turnips!

My main points were that:-

If Norwich want him, the fee was agreed before he had even put a shirt on for them, so now they are promoted and his goals in tight games got them the points over their promotion rivals, hasn't that justified the agreed price even more?

If they want him they can sign him with a very small part of the £100M they will get as a minimum for going up and coming back down as bottom club, without even considering the £30M per year for three years that they would get in parachute payments.

I suspect that a lot of this is purely paper talk, in the absence of any response from the club, but if they have told Wednesday that the agreed £7M is too much money, why do the news stories not tell us how much Norwich are prepared to pay?

If they do not want him, he could settle right into Bruce's plans, especially if we are playing a higher tempo game next season, with more balls into the area from the wings.
