Love a bit of Tele action, nice and jangly/crisp without going for the fully scooped-out SG vibe. Teles always sound like someone smashing a bag of cutlery on the table to me, glorious.

Funny that how people see / hear different sounds out of a guitar

Through the right amp n peddles a tele is the crunchiest dirtiest weapon of choice ...

Agree though Tom it's probably the best of guitars an all rounder .

Wilko Johnson and Mick Green of the Pirates favoured them that's why I've always swayed to them ...

A 6'2" CB who has scored 18 goals in 134 appearances over five years. Suggests he could be useful at set pieces and has managed to avoid major injury issue.

A free transfer and probably on reasonable money. All in all, a much more sensible transfer policy IMO.

If he can actually defend to the level required in this league.

Of course that's always the unknown. You'd have to assume we've at least had him watched and as the club captain he ought to be decent. It's still got to be better than gambling 4 million on a player in the Dutch league who clearly hasn't been up to it at either end of the pitch, or indeed been injury free.

Hope this doesn’t mean the end for hector

CB wise if this lad signs we have

Lees

New Guy

Thorniley

Van aken

space for one more I would imagine ! Don’t see Joost being here to be fair

Highly unlikely Hector will be coming back here - so we need to ensure we have the necessary cover.

Joost has had a miserable time here but he’s young and a proper manager may be able to get him up and running.

You may be right, but Hector was the primary reason we were able to finish in the top half, just. Dread to think where we will finish if we don’t find an adequate replacement In fact, if we want to challenge at the top of the table, we need to replace players we lose, with better

Bruce brought his recruitment team with him from Villa. Perhaps Börner is someone they've been monitoring for a while, along with the keeper Beunardeau we were immediately linked with after they came in.

Not so sure about that. Don't forget, Hector had his critics first coupla months. We were shipping goals in first half of the season - even with Hector. Jos out = better defence all round.

Not suggesting Van A is the answer but there must be something in there for Bruce to work with.

Others will no doubt come in during the season.

As for Hector, as much as he, we, whoever else may want him back it will come down to wages and unfortunately we will struggle to compete here.
