We're moving fast. Hope that means room for some incomings.

Wasn't Hammoud supposed to be the next big thing?

It’s Jos’ fault that our former bright young prospect is leaving.

He was asked what sacrifices Mr C should make at the end of the season.

Jos said get rid of Hammoud mushrooms.

Well actually he said ham and mushrooms, but these things can happen when a Dutchman talks to a Thai.

None of them have pulled up any trees in the u23s, despite being given a few years to impress, so best for all parties to let them try their hand lower down the football tree.

Time for some of the National Champion u18 squad to see if they can make the step up to the u23 squad.

If there not challenging by 20 then let them go and find a club were they have a chance.  We need to free up spaces and find ones good enough to step up.

We have an obligation to fulfil our fixtures at U23 level, so need a squad of at least 16 players, and with only 8 promoted from the U18’s, we need to either retain some, or recruit from outside

Yes recruit ones that are going to challenge not ones let go by Ipswich Forest etc.

You never know how a player will develop though, players like Vardy, Brooks, Austin, Deeney, Clucas, Brunt are all examples of players released early in their careers to come back again having developed later.

Interesting you named 6 players over 10 years . When around 600 plus are let go every year. Vardy is the one we missed dont remember many others. We need to look at premier league youngsters if we are to recruit ones let go.Not ones from league 1 sides and midtable championship.

This really does make playing Dan Wallis over Joe Wildsmith for most of the season in the under 23's seem an ever stranger decision.

I do hope there is some master plan to bring players through as this is going to leave the development squad under strength and light on numbers. If we learnt anything from Jos the dross it was don't pick players before they are ready, the under 18's have done very well this year but for some the move up to the under 23's may be too soon.

I think you are talking about the season before last. Wallis has started one game for the U23s all season in 2018/19

We have signed 10 second year scholars on pro contracts.

They are not eligible for the Under 18’s next year.  They’ll all turn 19 next season.

If they are not good enough for the under 23 League at 19 they are unlikely to ever be good enough for The Championship.
