Even if he wanted to be back here, it would still come down to us being able to stump the cash up?. Hence we may have to look for a much cheaper short term replacement. Not happening but would make more sense than many of our recent signings? Some of our managers have collected lots of good/average/poor players for lower fees/wages. Cahill is over paid. for the £100k a week for one season you would waste on him. You can sign Hector £2m, Venancio £1m and pay their wages and at the end of the season have two players who will be worth more than you paid for them. The reason we are losing £15-20m a season is because we have too many past it players who cannot play 80%+ of the season.
