Holmowl
We all have our favourites but let’s look at who has genuinely merited the title of KEY PLAYER since we began our revival after Jos left. Before P22. W6. D6. L10. Pts24 Since P22. W10. D9. L3. Pts39 This form equates to an 81.5 point season, which pretty much guarantees 4th and sometimes 3rd. This form would see us draw around 18 or 19 matches. Turn four into wins and you are fighting for an auto-spot. We still don’t score many. We scored 28 in the 22 games before Jos left, and 28 in the 22 since. No change. However, in defence it’s chalk and cheese. Under Jos we conceded 40 in 22. Since then we have conceded only 17 in 22. We talk about our key players. The reality is that over these highly successful 22 matches we have had 9 key players:- Hector 22 games Reach 21 games Palmer 21 games Fletcher 20 games Bannan 20 games Westwood 19 games Lees 19 games Hutchinson 19 games and since signing Iorfa has become a key player, making 10 appearances. There’s 9 names to “build a team around”. A rock of a defence, an effective midfield, and the tireless Fletcher. If we can get a regular and effective LW and second striker we have a superb Xl - proven, not guesswork. Of course we will need quality back-up, especially in CM where Hutchinson is very unlikely to last a season. Bruce has proved he can improve players and build a side. Our transformation has been outstanding. Massively optimistic for next season. 1
Blue and white
Add Rhodes to that and that could be a nloody good starting point for next season.

Rhodes certainly fits part of the bill to be a key player. His fitness record is top notch. However, he would need to improve his form. He has been very poor for us. Might work well as a regular foil to Fletcher though. And under Bruce we do get the ball forward faster and over from wide with more quality. Not sure why you've been negged for this. Rhodes is our player. Next season he will either turn out for us, be sold, or go on loan again. Personally, if we can afford it etc I hope he turns out for us, scores 28 goals and gets us promoted. He has shown many times that he can score goals. He needs the right support and chances. If we play a system that suits him then he could easily do it again. Look at sharp, loads of goals in a system that suits. Rhodes would do the same. 1

Not been able to evolve with game. He would do well at league 1 level but not a player at this level. has failed for few seasons in a row now. WalthamOwl
Be very happy if we built next seasons team around those players. Have to admit before this season started I doubted that Palmer was good enough but he has been one of our best players since Christmas.
Morepork
I know lots have made their mind up about Rhodes and based on what he’s done in a Wednesday shirt it’s not unreasonable. However, based on the improvements we’ve seen in several individuals under Bruce and our improved tactical astuteness I’d be keen to see what he can do with JR.
james o connor
Rhodes has a clean slate like everybody else . we still desperately need more pace and creativity if we are going to go for it next year though
Jeffjohnsonmyhero
The side we have at the moment is not good enough for automatic ,Surely that's what we should aim for ,Massive clear out required.

Every season he has failed it has been under a foreign manager, look at Fletcher under Carlos and Jo's, he was a fraction of the player he is under Bruce and Bruce will be the manager to get Rhodes firing again. I'm convinced that we have a good enough squad already for next season, need to entice Hector to play for us and try and introduce some more pace into the side. Hirstys_12th_Pint
We will struggle to be able to keep Hector any longer unfortunately. Would love him here as he has been my Player of the Season. Also think Westwoods head will be turned and go elsewhere. Rhodes is an interesting one and would back Bruce to play the right system to get a tune out of him. Fully accept Bruce gets the best out of players but no pace strikers or box poachers do not cut it in league. Bruce has stated he wants all players to work and close down opposition. This is not JRs game he does not have physical ability to do it. he has been on periphery at Norwich all season and is a rare commodity his value has declined whilst being a member of a promotion winning squad. football has changed and if a player does not adapt you are old news. Somebody mentioned Sharp he now puts a shift in harrying and hassling defenders often making diabolical tackles if he did not do this I am certain Wilder would not pick him. Years ago he did not do this. Joao struggles with this side of the game as well when he does try looks physically gone by half time.
SallyCinnamon
If we want to challenge next season we need to sign up Hector, a left back, 2 quick wingers and a central midfielder.

gurujuan
Seriously? Fletcher and Rhodes would be the slowest strike pairing in the league

Sharp has adapted his game, and Rhodes hasn’t, or can’t Also, Sharp plays alongside a mobile partner, in McGoldrick. We can’t possibly consider a Fletcher/Rhodes pairing, can we?
