Bury the game

Wish he'd shoot more. Also couldn't believe Joao didn't play it across the box when he had chance.

Anyway, not a bad performance given # of our most solid starters went off injured

  • Playing top of the league
  • Westwood , who has been in absolutely outstanding form gets injured in the warm up.
  • Hutchinson, out best defensive midfield player goes off on 33 minutes.
  • We have to put in Dawson and Pelupessy to of our most maligned players against the top team in the division.
  • We come away with a 2-2 draw.

I consider that to be a decent effort all things considered.

  • Thanks 1

The Gaffers played a blinder by putting him as a sitter behind Boyd and Onomah in the shake up. Worked a treat.

Horses for courses. Round pegs in round holes. Amazing the difference it can make isn't it.

Agree with the OP.

Far too many basic errors or ridiculous decisions from far too many players affected the game hugely, at both ends of the pitch.

Bannan. Ridiculous decision not to hit it when in a great one-on-one position with the goalkeeper.

Joao. Kill the game. Go to the corner. Blast it over the bar. Whatever. With less than 2 minutes to go, don't give them a chance to attack. Again...braindead football.

Palmer. Keeping the ball in and playing the ball back straight into the path of the Norwich winger. Gave Norwich a great opportunity to equalise. Totally unforced error. We've seen it before from him.

Matias. Don't even get me started. He was Norwich's best player in that final 20 minutes. The unforced header out for a corner. The ridiculous extravagant volley he shanked for a corner. Continuously giving the ball away in midfield. And lunging in and giving the referee a decision to make for the free kick. He's like a Springer Spaniel who's just been let off the leash...utter chaos...at both ends of the pitch.

And this is where the crux of our issues lie. We have too many players we cannot rely on. Either physically (Hutchinson, yet another game he can't complete today. Westwood...yet another game he missed through injury), or mentally...Bruce just cannot rely on so many of these players.

He's hinting strongly at a clear out, because despite how well we've done under him, Bruce knows that there's too many players he doesn't know what he's going to get from when they cross that white line.

That hurts, but we need to bury games

Missed chance after chance, that Bannan one was absolutely unbelievable to not hit it

Bannan never hits a shot or cross first time when it’s on his right foot.

All players have a stronger foot but sometimes you have to just hit it. He should have struck that first time tonight

Well said Fras

This forum is absolutely ridiculous at times - Matias scores 2 goals against an absolute horrific Forest side and everyone was calling for him to have a new contract - what the furk is going on? He’s exactly as you described - just runs round mental with the ball, get rid.

And Bannan - everyone has a stronger foot, but even playing 5 and 11 a side at an amateur level, you smash it with the right foot there and try and get the glory, he must have absolutely no confidence in his right boot which just isn’t good enough.

Not enough know how in team to bury game or just sh1thouse the points

You’re missing the point completely.

Its the ongoing issue over a prolonged period of time. The issues run a lot longer than a handful of games when the going is good.

Even in that graphic, Hutchinson has come off injured in 3 of the last 9 games he’s played.

Thankfully, Bruce knows whats needed. He won’t be fooled by the excellent turn in results since Christmas. And by that, I don’t necessarily mean he’ll get rid of Westwood & Hutchinson...but he needs far more reliability within the squad.

At present, there are only two players he can rely on to be 7/10 and fit and ready to go week in week out are Hector and Lees.
