Lord Snooty
Has there been any update on the boy? I was impressed wih him at full back. Stopped a lot of crosses. (Was looking good until Jos barmily moved him into midfield.) What was the injury he picked up and how long is he out for?

striker
Be interesting to see what happens in pre season. Difficult to judge under Jos, looked a decent prospect at LB then he was moved round the pitch by Jos, which rather ruined him as he looked lost. Certainly competition for Fox at LB. gurujuan
Bruce was drooling over him after that Villa game, so I wonder if he might get a starting role next season Like most youngsters, he was a mixture of good and indifferent

The problem is can he play in a back four at this level and if not what is his position.
BIG D
He’s definitely got a chance. Daft to say he’s not good enough. Jos f**ked him up by playing him all over the place.

He’s certainly creative enough to play further forward. I don’t think he has the defensive discipline to be a fullback - he likes a trick and you can’t carry out tricks when there’s only the centre-half and the keeper between you and the goal. That’s the big question Probably no worse than Lazaar when it comes to defending, but like Lazaar, his strength is going forward Think he does have a future at left back, if he can get his positioning sorted out

cowl
Bruce said a couple of weeks ago that he didn't expect Penney or Lee to be back this season, but, as we know, Lee is back training now and even played with the U23s, and I've seen Penney in a few of the training shots, so he's at least back in some form of training with the squad even if not necessarily full training. I think his injury was his shoulder or arm?

I think there's potential in the lad given his age. I'd like to see what Bruce can get out of him like he has done with some of the other players who've been previpusly written off. The fact he’s 21 and played so little football tells you about his potential to perform at this level.

Well it doesn't. He'd got a Czech International in front of him when he signed his first pro deal. Players don't all 'click' at the same age. Ian Wright didn't play a league game till he was 22. That lad Eyres was 25 before playing 500 odd games for Preston and Burnley. I'm not saying he will make it....the futures not set. But writing lads off at 21 seems a bit premature to me.
