Problem is, Bruce sees him as a striker. He will find out after six or seven games that he isn’t, but we haven’t got six or seven games to waste while he finds out.

And with Aarons pulling out just before kick-off, it would have been a great opportunity to get FF onto the left and play Nuhiu or Winnall with Hooper up top instead.

For a long time now he seems to always play with his back to goal and a defender in his back. Needs to play from deep and face the goal more. Which probably means he needs to play in as front 3 as a 2 doesn't suit him.

We play with two wingers now. And it’s working really well.

He needs to battle Aarons for the wide spot so we can play two proper better strikers. Today for example, FF instead of Boyd would have allowed a Nuhiu + Hooper front two.

However, Bruce says he’s a striker. He’s never been a good striker, and this season he has been a poor striker.

Hes not, nor never has been a striker. Sooner whoever is managing us, be it carlos, jos or bruce, realises this, the better. Down the left, or, a proper number 10, then yes, in a 442 alongside the striker, no, especially when the other striker is Hooper. Off a target man is one thing, off a similar player, then it isn't going to work.

His position is LW for me. How that fits into the system is another thing. Hasn’t done it for 12 months. Let’s sell him and move on.

Agreed, problem is FF isn't the best at tracking back. Which is the reason why Bruce is very reluctant to play Marco out their.

FF is far better tracking back than Marco.

And Bruce will give him a rocket if he doesn’t.

Probably needs to play on the left where he was always more productive. Not sure why this is so difficult

He just isnt a striker period, whether it be a good one or bad one.

A massive asset to the team when he's on it and getting into positions where he can run directly at players.  I'm not convinced centre forward is that position.

Very much a modern attacker. Rather than traditional striker.

Bruce has the task of trying to get him ticking. How that happens. Or even if that happens is another thing.
