"The big news for the fans is that Hooper is back"!

It's pleasing to see Hooper getting back into contention. However, remember that he's been out for 16 months, and whilst much of his game is instinctive, I think it inevitable that he'll take a few weeks to get anywhere like back to his best - perhaps end of April.

I'm also concerned that like Hopper, Winnall, FF, Fletcher and Joao are all not 100% fit. Only Nuhiu appears ready to start - this to me is the main issue in the next critical four or five weeks.

Irrespective of what happens this season, we can not get into the same situation as we have for the last three years of having partially fit players (particularly strikers) trying to get us over the line. Player recruitment must change.

This 100%. We would have gone up under Carlos if our best players hadn't spent half the time injured. Let's hope the powers that be aren't tempted to offer new contracts to players who can't stay fit.

When Hooper has returned from injury before he hasn't had Bruce looking after his 'recovery. I'm sure SB and his medical squad will have done a better job in recovering our injured players than previous managers/coaches.

Not sure but I think the medical staff haven't changed.

Hope you're right regarding his recovery though.

I just assumed that Bruce would have his own team of medical staff which he takes with him wherever he goes. Could be wrong.

Perhaps he even has his own groundmen (see one of my other threads) .

He has been around long enough to gather a team of specialist support workers around him. As long as Chansiri can afford to pay them all. I once read that Allardyce has the biggest squad of backroom staff. I think they need a 50 seater coach just for them.

43 seats were for Sam....

Is there a need to have a pop at fans in the op?

It’s fantastic news of course and I’m someone that’s backed him, but let’s not use it as points scoring. It’ll just lead to arguing rather than focusing on some very positive news.

Be great to see him on the pitch again.

Yes i think the OP has every right too have a pop..

The doom and gloomers add a negativity to situations that demotivates and hinders momentum for our club at root level. Here.

im totally in favour of anyone expressing an opinion however I feel some post negative comments for attention rather than contributing to what is generally a buoyant forum.

Positivity breeds positivity.

Negativity breeds negativity.

He looks leaner than I've ever seen him in comeback mode. I think he realises how much he's missed the game, losing in essence 10pc of his playing career in one injury stint and has put absolutely everything into coming back including laying off the Old Speckled Hen and pie chasers.

Skinny as a rake...

Bring yer boots pal ye might get a game...

Hopefully FF will be up for it now court case is done.

I start big Dave though if Fletcher isn't fit. Nando and Aarons of him with Reach, Bannan and Hutch in behind...
