If he said then he rightly wants straightening out.

My question would be 'how good is your Spanish Mr.Pearce?'

Can he be 100% convinced that those words were used against him in Spanish?  I very much doubt it.

My interpretation of what was said was that FF was speaking in Spanish, but then used the N word in English

So when is the GBH case being herd for the karate kick from Mellis that nearly broke Tom Lees in two.

It really is a sad indictment of the state of things in this country where police prefer to prosecute over alleged racist abuse that a) nobody actually heard and b) was in a foreign language not spoken by anyone in potential earshot, in preference to an assault that was filmed and witnessed widely in the stadium.

its also a sad state of affairs with the amount of money that has been wasted by the Mansfield Police, CPS and other authorities and when asked the only people they have spoken too, is the two players and the manager 60 yards away.

there were another 20 players on the pitch nearer than the manager and the incident in the game did not stem from a few choice words. It was a very hot summers day and tempers flared and 2 or 3 of the players over stepped the mark. it really is an issue in this country that players seem to be guilty until proven innocent and with 10,000 people in the crowd all with phones no one in the stadium managed to get the incident on tape.

Very very strange.

Aye, this is Nottinghamshire Constabulary for you. The same force that pursued charges of aggravated trespass against two blokes that dressed up like umpires and walked out onto the field at a Trent Bridge test match. An utter waste of police time and public money for something that could easily have been dealt with by the ground stewards.

Granted we’re not in court and there may be some other incriminating evidence but how the CPS ever thought there was a case to answer based on what we’ve seen this morning is beyond me. Do they get paid according to how famous the defendant is or something?

Agree with a lot of this.

If one of our players has resorted to racism, then I'm all for throwing the book at them - and when it is on the football field, it's usually dealt with by the football authorities. But for Forestieri to be found guilty of this crime, there has to be concrete proof of what he said being accurate surely? I'm guessing their players aren't fluent in Spanish (the Mansfield guy involved seemed to struggle with English, his first language!) and their manager was 60 yards away. Absolutely no way can anyone prove what Forestieri said in those moments.

Yet, Tom Lees is assaulted - with a shedload of evidence to back this up - in the same incident and zero is done about it. Why?

It's all a bit ridiculous, player gets brought down potential 1 on 1, fires some words at him, standard in a football, except... almost always the spat lasts about 10 seconds then the game continues. Unless he wants to make more of it than it is, perhaps he really did mishear or perhaps he said it, in the end of the day there's no evidence either way so it's a farce for the judge

12.52pm - In South America there is 'not much racism'

He said you would not use 'n*****' or '*****' in Spanish as a derogatory term. 'Some people might use the word monkey but normally insults are about people’s mothers.'

12.45pm - Forestieri again denies using the 'N' word

FF asked if he knew how offensive the ‘n’ word was to black people. He says it just isn’t a word he uses and he didn’t even know how to pronounce it as his English is not good.
