Definitely worth a chapter in the autobiography, that one:

"How I came to the rescue against Gibraltar".

:duntmatter:

The opposition is immaterial

It was an excellent close range header with power and the save was reflex and brilliant

Aye, not so much the quality of the save which I don't dispute, but the fact that it was necessary to produce such a save to rescue two points from the nation (if that is the right word) ranked 194th in the world!

Hasn't Randolph been number 1 for a while?

I think Westwood edges it, but Randolph is more than capable. Furthermore, Westwood has not been involved in the ROI set up for a while.

Makes sense. Heard he gets a game bonus of more than half ROI's GDP, each time he features!

Loads of folk were gutted when he took the job and we "missed out."

Yeah how can we possibly be upset at missing out on an international manager when we had Jos in charge?!

Just because Big Mick isn't picking Westwood he's no longer good enough us.

Got to love Owsltalk logic.

He never was good enough for us. Just shows the level of manager lukuhay was that he made McCarthy appear not just a good option but also that we would be playing more attractive football! Glad those days are behind us!

The usual "anybody is better than we have now" mentality without thinking about the long term implications of diving in to make a change or taking time to make the right appointment.

Plenty on here think that I was right behind Jos because I would not jump on the get rid bandwagon. That was never the case. As I made clear at the time, I would rather drift along with him and make sure the next guy is the right one instead of just appointing another Jos clone to replace the one in situ. I was surprised and delighted with the appointment of Bruce.

At last, the powers that be at the club got the right guy. I was prepared to wait for that to happen if necessary.

Whilst agreeing with taking time to get the right man in and yes Steve Bruce and his team have done a fantastic job since coming in.

Though I will say I would have been delighted if we'd have brought mick in.

With a cv almost as good as Bruce's at club level, but also plenty of international management experience.

Add to that being very similar as a strong character and leader.

I can't see how anyone would have been disappointed if DC had brought him in.

How does this happen?!! Westwood is twice the player!

Maybe these pro managers know what they doing and Randolph might be abit better? Just putting that out there, we are obviously biased.
