Bruce- Injury news

Recommended Posts

  • Joao –
He’s had an injection. Lets see if that does the trick. Better news than a week ago when we thought he might need an operation.

  • Winnall –
That’s the dilemma I’ve got. He’s come on and played a part. He’s in the reckoning. He’s got goals. Therein lies what I’ve talked about before. He’s a very good striker at this level. But he’s had a horrible injury. But touch wood he’s over that and can have a run in the team.

  • Onomah –
Won’t be available for Saturday. Might be back for Stoke in a couple of weeks. Be good to see him back. He’s played very well for me. IT’s not gone as well as we’d have liked since he’s been here. But he’s back running.

  • Van Aken-
Definitely out for the rest of the season. It’s what it is. Injured. It’s plagued the club unfortunately .

What a crock Van Aken is, he's not played since the League Cup game at Sunderland has he? If we can get him off the books in the summer we should.

Has he not played since Sunderland because he got absolutely crocked in that game by an horrendous tackle?

He is another who looked to have some promise early doors, composure, played out well and knocked a couple of excellent long balls.  Maybe just another who had his natural game coached out of him who found himself playing in an under performing poor team.  As Bruce says, all deserve a chance to stake a claim.  Should not be so eager to write off everyone who played poorly under Jos.

the person saying van Aken being out was a huge blow must have been a United fan clearly never seen him play. he has no football know how and will continually get injured. the game against Sunderland is a good illustration of this. Their play steamed in and he just stood there and took full impact of challenge. Normally a player would jump to lessen or avoid impact, in circumstances he was lucky he could walk off after that tackle. He either has extremely slow reactions or does not understand concept of how to avoid or lessen potential impacts playing centre half he will constantly get knocks and was injured on his return to U/23s. he will never play in first team for Bruce unless in absolute dire circumstances.

I was surprised Van Aken was asked about would have liked to have known where we are with Lazaar and Lee two players who if fit would make a difference to team.

Positive news about all others, I wonder who behind closed doors game is against next week?

Think they will get van aken fit over the summer then he will be sold on at a massive loss

He wont be sold as no club would be daft enough to take on his wages.

Only way he will not be on the clubs books next season will be if we pay off his contract.
I don't blame the player if he doesnt accept a move elsewhere, what we are paying him will probably set him up for life.
