Bolton Game In Doubt?

Recommended Posts

It's happened before, July 2018

Not sure what happened after the strike and it was only friendly.

No idea of legal requirements...is there a legal limit to how late wages can be?

........................................

A promise that the funds would reach players' accounts by this morning (Friday) has also not been honoured.

It is the first time in Bolton's history a game has been cancelled as a result of industrial strike action.

The players' statement read: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, we as a team have decided with deep regret we will not be playing tomorrow’s game against St Mirren.

Aye, Anderson has a long history of this, hence the fan protests and stuff. Non paying of playing staff, coaches, and pretty much everyone elses wages repeatedly, numerous winding up orders for non payment of taxes, repeated non payment of money owed to the catering company do the hotel, police and ambulance services, collapse of transfer deals, hell, if it wasn't for the estate of Eddie Davis, they would have been put into admin last year, but they lent him 5 mill. Anderson keeps claiming that since he bought the club he has reduced the debt, well, of course he has, mainly because Eddie Davis wiped out 187 million owed to him. Hell he was previously banned from being a company director in 2005-13 for dishonesty that involved ciphering money from businesses going into liquidation.

Yet with that track record , the football league still allowed him to buy Bolton. It beggars belief , it really does.

Yet owners like chansiri who pay all the bills settle all the debts but want to invest are stopped from doing so. Crazy rules

Easy really

Anderson knows that for any takeover to be ratified by the EFL they have to be satisfied that the football creditors ie players wages and levies plus potentially longer term ones like transfer fee instalments will be paid.

It is simply brinkmanship within these takeover negotiations which are always last minute as the respective lawyers and accountants try and get the best deal but frantically check they aren't being stitched up

The bigger danger for the game however is probably Gareth

That is truly frightening, doesn’t due diligence involve checks on previous form of would be owners? Think many people are under the impression that football has cleaned up its act over the last few years but it’s still a shady business. It’s not changed much since 1977 when Billy Dearden rang me to turn out for Chesterfield reserves and after the game a little bloke met me outside the dressing room and asked me how much I wanted for turning up...with that he started peeling tenners off a huge wad of notes in his fist must have been £2k in cash...I asked for 50 notes...didn’t even play that night.:duntmatter:Laughed all the way to the bank!

Saw parkinson on the local news over here last night.

He said the players were promised wages yesterday but nothing arrived

Also said his job for motivating them is very difficult and challenging..

Cue home win tonight!
