How the fizz am I the only one who sees that Hutch was massively at fault for their goal?

Or we now like Michael Jackson fans who can hear to criticism of the idol?

It's fair to say that Johnson was Hutchinson's man.

However, the header from Reach is something Hutchinson couldn't predict, nor react to.

Hutchinson is looking at where the danger is likely to be, and when Reach's header changes the course and trajectory of the ball, it leaves Hutchinson in No Mans Land.

Technically, if you're wanting your defenders to remain tight to their man, then Hutchinson could take some blame. But I think Hutchinson is trying to read the corner, and Johnson only becomes a danger once Reach's header doesn't clear the box, and lands perfectly for Johnson.

I'm neither absolving nor putting the blame on Hutchinson, just trying to analyse the situation.

Hutch did the natural thing, he tried to anticipate where the ball was going. It’s very difficult for a defender not to do  that .

The attacker gambled on staying in the space and it paid off thanks to a very poor near post defensive header from Reach.

Reach always takes that near post space , presumably because he is tall but he ain’t very good in the air.

That's my view of it also.

There was a camera angle on the YouTube highlights, from behind the goal. And it demonstrated perfectly, how Hutchinson tracked the man, anticipated that if the ball came across the goal, he'd be in position to affect the game.

He couldn't predict nor react to Reach's attempted defensive header.
