Still not out of it

Recommended Posts

Unbelievably, 10 games left and we're still not out of it.

Think we've seen today that the current occupants of 6th spot are not exactly flying. At +2 it's also not impossible we could turn round their goal difference over the next 10 games.

7th placed Bristol City have lost again and we still have them to play.

I thought we had to win the last 2- we didn't and yet we still go into Tuesday's game at Bolton in with a shout.

It's unlikely, but it's still possible.

Got to beat Bristol City and Forest, but why not?

If we do so it’s quite likely that we finish above both, leaving Derby as the one to catch.

Derby have 5 points from six, including drawing v Ipswich and losing at home to Millwall.

But obviously it’s down to us. We are (literally) unbeatable right now but have to turn draws into wins.

Bolton, Blackburn next. Couldn’t really ask for much more.

While there is a chance you have to believe.

Bruce has a completely free shot at it, nothing to lose and everything to play for.

Not quite, but a reyt bummer result today...Bristol lost had we beat frank lampards derby today, would have meant a realistic big hope...

Another game gone and not made up any ground, still 6 pts

Bolton game is now massive, if we don't win all over, a draw will be no good. Now we have to beat leeds and Norwich away to have any chance at all, or the very least 4pts

Last season after 36 games

6th Boro 58 pts

7th United 58 pts

74 points good enough for a sixth place finish.

16/17 season after 36 games

6th Wednesday 62 pts

7th Fulham 58 pts

76 points good enough for a sixth place finish

15/16 season after 36 games

6th Ipswich 58 pts

7th Wednesday 56 pts

70 points good enough for a sixth place finish

Today after 36 games

6th Derby 54 pts

7th Bristol C 53 pts

Looks likely to be a very low points total for 6th place this season. Could be as low as 67/68 points. Meaning we would need W5 D4 L1 or W6 D2 L2.....ish.

Your last sentence sums it up. I'm sure the teams above us ate thinking the same.
