steveger
He's the Director of the U23 development squad at Crystal Palace. "Palace legend and current director of the U23 development squad at the club, Mark Bright, was one of those in the audience. He added: “We’re south London, it’s a very diverse area and we have great diversity across the club, so it’s really good to be able to host an event like this." https://www.football.london/crystal-palace-fc/news/next-generation-coaches-inspired-palace-15300856 Edited March 9, 2019 by steveger

Beauchief Owl
Yes, the saga over GH was painful but I like the fact that both David and George feel some attachment to the club in spite of George being frozen out. It can't be easy turning up to watch a game knowing that you'll probably get slated for what's happened and the lack of progress in George's career. I can understand both sides in possibly wanting to reunite because it was working and they know each other and hurst is a boyhood fan and after being burnt and trying to become a man he’s happy coming back and continuing his development. But I also see why he when if he or his advisors thought he was worth more based on his Youth form and wanted a better contract they had every right to try for a better deafening frozen out by the club and told to sign and you can be loaned out like blackmail then stopped from training was disgusting I’d have gone both parties still had over half a season to negotiate. Any way after all this I’m guessing he’s just fine back to watch and there’s nothing init Horst Wessel
Guest ka58
George Hirst is 20 years old. He’s played 22 first team games (21 in the Belgium second division) and scored 2 goals. hes never started a game in English top flight football. Time to move on. HarryPlopper
Hirst will be playing L1 football next season with Bolton, should they get through the next few months. Season long loan, no wages paid. Source is Hirst himself.

The fact that he seems to be in a worse place now than had he stayed here kind of makes it worse. Like I said at the time, no winners...... Great player in his day but persona non grata now as far as I'm concerned. His son can do one as well, he had his chance with us and chucked it back in our faces. I would imagine that both David and George will be mortified that a persona non grata from the West Midlands disapproves of them.

prowl
Not from the West Midlands, I'm Sheffield born and a Wednesday fan for 60 years. I may currently live in the West Midlands but that's only because I'm trying to bring civilisation to the natives. optimisticowl
The difference between DC and McCabe is that the former runs the Owls as a hobby, whilst the latter runs the blunts as a business. Had Hirst been with the blunts they would have made a player, and probably big money out of him, David Brooks played 30 games and was sold for £11.5 million, we’re not in the same league business wise. Sonny
Hirst doesn't appear to be in the same league as Brooks football wise either.
