A look at the oppos..

Recommended Posts

Bristol C have leeds, piggies, borough  coming up, then W Brom, us and then Derby, last game they have hull.

derby have us then stoke...brum, bristol c, swansea last game w brom.

forest have hull and villa,...swansea, us, piggies, borough

hull have forest then norwich, borough, w brom, piggies, swansea, last game bristol c.

villa have brum, forest, borough,....us and bristol c

preston have borough, brum, piggies, leeds, w brom, us

swansea have norwich, w brom, forest, (in between they have m city in the cup) borough, stoke, hull and derby.

I would say we have the hardest run in..but no club have an 'easy' finish.

We also have a game in hand on 5 teams above us
Could go right to the wire with 3 teams fighting for 6th place on the last day

Not bothered with brum fixtures cos they will be ruled out of it soon

I know the old cliche 'doesn't matter who you're playing in this league anyone can beat anyone'...but at this stage it does matter who you are playing and beating/losing.

We have piggies, derby, stoke, villa, forest, leeds, norwich, bristol c, preston and bolton, blackburn and qpr.
Think we need 27pts from 36 to be certain.WTF:

Everyone in the hunt plays each other. There's some serious twists and turns to come yet. Main ones being we can help the pigs out and they can help us out. We could have the totally alien prospect of actually wanting them to win a game or 2.

That will be an acid test of how much you hate em. Wins for us enhance their chances of automatic.

As Bruce said, it's the tickly bit around the corner that can cause problems. A realisation that the premier league and all it brings can cause a side to buckle.

How many times have Derby amongst others been up there only to fail at the final few Furlong's?

However, there's always a side that comes from nowhere without any real expectations. Let's hope, despite it being a long shot it just might be us.

You can’t underestimate how important tomorrow nights game is.

Lose and it’s most likely season over which to be fair is what we all expected in January time anyway.

However if we win tomorrow we are then 4 off the play offs but more important just think about how much confidence that will give the players. Momentum is massively hard to stop once it gets going and the good thing for us is no one around us has any momentum at the minute, everyone is doing their best to throw it away.

27 points gets us to 74.

while that does sneak teams into 6th spot some of the time, looking at the table its doubtful it will this season.

I don't want to ruin our hope but this theory was proved to hardly ever happen.

This sums it up for me

I think it's highly likely 74 points will be enough, Bristol C in 6th are on course for 73, 3 points more than derby in 7th.

Bristol and derby have some tough games coming up, as has all teams in with a shout for 6th, even 72pts could just sneak in.

In a rather perverse way, our hardest fixtures are Leeds and Norwich away and we could afford to lose those (rather than Bristol, Forest, Villa (all H) and Preston (A))

Think that's bang on, if we get 4pts from the next 2 games ...so long as 3 of the pts was against derby it would more beneficial....though beating the piggies wouldn't hurt:biggrin:

The lowest ever points total for the last play off spot was 68 in 2012/2013.

That spot was taken by Leicester City.

After 34 games they had 57 points (three more than the current incumbents).
