This will be the first time we have used drones at a football match and they will be important in giving us an overview of the crowds on the ground to help with the efficiency and effectiveness of the policing operation,” he said.

“If there are signs of disorder we will be able to act quickly and appropriately.

“This is using technology in a very positive way and I hope the supporters that see them drones above them are reassured by that as they are to be used to help us ensure their safety and so that we can use the staff we have more efficiently.”

Use drones at every game hovering above parked cars on Herries Road.

Should be a relatively easy job to photograph/film the lowlifes and probably identify

them as they are likely to be known to the police already.

Also an economical use of police manpower.

Went up herries rd Wednesday morning and there where 5 or 6 piles of shattered glass from the Brentford  match. Send the drones up once everyone's in the ground... Two birds we one stone

This is Sheffield where the first tramtrain crashed on its launch.

What’s the odds of one of SYP’s drones bringing their ‘copter down?

**** me wtf do they think goes down at a Steel City derby compared to other derbies? The most expensive game to police. Ridiculous kick off times, SAG capacity restrictions. Amateur hour. Maybe the robots they use will show a bit more empathy towards fans instead of treating them like criminals.

Those south Yorkshire police you would think all the trouble they have gotten into with the police helicopter spying on people having sex they would have learnt their lesson.

I bet the drones spends most of the match looking for that women in the kop - you know the one I mean WTF:
