Think we have improved performances and results since JL was sacked but still don't think we have looked a promotion side in those 12 games.

Standard of performance last night was good enough to be a top six side but have to play like over a longer period to have been serious promotion side.

Few top sides can have that level  of consistency, what they are good at is grinding out results when not playing so well, keeping clean sheets sets a great platform for doing that.

One more decent swing on results will put us right in the mix.

That lot on Monday , Leeds and Norwich away , Preston , Bristol city all to play , be amazing if we are in with a shout of the play offs in a couple of months . We are capable but I just can’t see it myself . I’m much more hopeful for next season though .

Derby and Forest to play too

Have to agree. Believe a play-off place will be beyond us this year. However to put a positive spin on things, the best chance of it happening is to play and beat the teams above us. Dare to dream.

Brizzle was ham cheese and mediocrity for months, now they ride a good form into the playoffs.  We might be too late, but it ought to be fun trying!!!

After seven(?) wins in a row, it's now two defeats. Look closer at Bristol's season and they're a bit like us: nearly all their wins are by a single goal. As we know, narrow wins can easily become draws or narrow defeats. I reckon Bristol will become as inconsistent as Derby for the remainder of the season. It's Forest that I think will sneak in above the two.

There's a noticeable difference to hutch since he returned. He's less reckless, more measured and seems to be finally maturing into dm. He's been far less into the breach 100 mile an hour and more assess the situation and break things up before they appear. Great for both us and Hutch as he's getting less cards, looking less likely getting injured or sent off too.

This is one of my biggest concerns for Monday night, flying into tackles in the first 10 min, if he's still on the pitch after that I will be more than happy,

he for me could be our Match winner on the day, if he takes command of the middle, their out-ball for overlapping half backs, will be dead in the water.

But that's the reason we are in with a long shot...Bristol, Preston, Forest and Derby....all 6 pointers.

If we only had teams below us left to play we would have no chance at all

It hasn’t taken SB long to put a decent side together out of the perceived shambles that Jos left. I’ve noticed that even the most verbal negativos have stopped moaning and started believing, what a difference  a bit of positivity brings to the club. Just remember that when he accepted the blunts job SB was promised £5million to spend, but when he attempted to access it was told to raise £350K or the players weren’t getting paid, so he resigned, I’m sure that he remembers this.  lol

Derby and Bristol always collapse this time of year. 6th is definitely up for grabs but we’ve got to get at least 4 points from the next 2 games imo

I think that’s about right.  4 points from the next two, and facing two teams at different ends of the form table.

Every team can say that though.

look at United at Villa.

Totally agree. We stole 2 points from Rovrum for example!

Our first 12 games we got 19pts and were 6th, so it was just the middle run of that 10games inbetween gaining only 5pts that will be our undoing. Nobody seems to want that 6th place every time somebody works there way in they can't wait to lose the next match. So we really need to sneak in on the last day of the season.

It's easy to forget that we actually started the season quite well and were in the top six by the time the first international break rolled around. Given our decent end to last season, there were reasons to be optimistic at that point.

As you say, it's the next ten games, in which we managed a solitary win, which did the damage for both Luhukay and our prospects this season. Who knows what happened during that international break, but once it started going badly wrong, Luhukay looked powerless to arrest our slide.

It would be interesting to hear Luhukay's take on his time at Wednesday now that he's left, as there were so many rumours swirling around the club at times - remember Michael Brown stating that Westwood wasn't playing due to a clause in his contract, for example?

Just 8 goals conceded in 12 games. Considering our defensive record prior to this, that’s staggering.

The stats just prove what a poor manager Jos was. Bizarre appointment in the first place.

Bruce is a world away from Clown and Jos in every aspect.

We would be promoted now if we'd had him 3 years ago.

Proper Manager.
