Mus
Just heard Steve Bruce on radio Sheffield saying you cannot keep 27 players happy, the squad needs trimming but every player will have a chance to prove himself.

ChinaOwl
Just go with a 6-12-6 formation with three keepers and hope Swarbrick is the ref so it doesn't get noticed - be reyt!

JOHNHARKES
Agree with him completely. Van Aken Palmer Preston Onomah (loan) Hec (loan) Matias O'Grady Jones Abdi Boyd Hooper Lee Westwood Only realistically want to keep Hector,Westwood if im being honest. As Lee and Hooper who I both rate arent going to figure at all from now just cant see it. Which is a huge shame. If both accepted a pay as you play next season id 100 percent do that. But highly unlikely. If you did keep Westwood,Hector you would be saving around 170k a week id say. A huge amount IF we can avoid ffp. Some real scope for freebies and loans in the summer to replace the 11 going and trimming the squad.

McRightSide
He’s probably talking about Hooper and Nuhiu, but it’s a bit hypocritical really

Problem we got is if we get hit with an embargo then we will probably have a 10k limit on wages to replace all the players we have lost. Think we may see a few more being kept on and signing new deals very soon for this very reason.

You would hope that there is a kind of conversation with the authorities about it - us demonstrating the large savings on wages being met with an understanding that, within reason, decent wages can then be invested on new players. Apparently that’s exactly what happens. All depends on how well we can demonstrate compliance for the next two years so all those players out of contract will be a big help. No idea if it will be enough.

The whole uncertainty over the situation, is probably the reason we didn’t offload any of our better players Come the end of the season, we might find there are constraints on who we can bring in, so does that mean, if there is anyone we want to keep, we have to offer them a new deal now? Obviously, most will be released, but releasing all without being able to replace some, could leave us with an imbalanced squad
