When was the last time.........

Recommended Posts

We scored a match winning goal when a winger beat a man, got to the bye - line and pulled it back to the striker to smash home?

More of the same please!

It's a fair question so i did some research.

It was Glynn Snodin crossing from the left for Lee Chapman to head home towards the Lepp against West Brom in 1985/86

Scratch that, Snodin was a left back.

So must have been Henderson after all.

It was just nice to want to kiss the telly rather than smash it up in the last minute for once.

Was thinking a bit more recent. Reach’s run to the bye line and cut back reminded me very much of Trevor Francis.

More important When was the last time a Wed. 'winger' took the ball on the by-line and we had men in the box unmarked and ready to finish!

Tbf Worthington had many great left wing assists during his career at Wednesday.

Maybe around the same time a midfielder played a defence splitting pass for a striker to run onto and score.

I remember Paul Bradshaw galloping up the wing one snowy night for Rodger Wylde to nod in at the far post.  Match details please??
