Official Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

Recommended Posts

We’re going to sign 7 left backs and 9 right backs plus 6 midfielders none of whom are under 30 years old so we must be planning to play 7-3-0 and Bruce must have been telling lies when he said he only wanted 5 or 6 players and to freshen up the squad with younger loans.

Sign Bidwell with Penney learning his trade as back up that would be the left back sorted. Fox is still in contract so if we can't find someone stupid enough to sign him he is a last resort if the tea lady has not recovered from her pulled arm injury. WTF:

You have to ask why Bidwell has been released by QPR as he's only 26. However he did play over 40 matches last season so that's a plus.

It looks like they want to replace him with Matthews, the Sunderland player we've been linked with.

Has he been released or has he excersised his right to leave at the end of his contract ?

One of our old keepers looks to be on the move......

Stoke are close to agreeing deals for goalkeeper Adam Davies, striker Lee Gregory and midfielder Nick Powell, Sky Sports News understands.

Davies has also been offered a new contract with Barnsley after an impressive stint as No 1 in their promotion season back to the Championship, but he looks set to join Stoke instead.

Agree, always a certain amount of spin from clubs and I'm sure agents will have been seeking offers which QPR presumably couldn't match.

Totally get where we are with the budget but if you buy solid mid table Championship players, you end up with a solid mid table Championship team.

True, but adding in some exciting young premier league loans as others have done in recent seasons can make the difference.

Depends on what the manager can get out of them. Some teams in recent years have been promoted with players most of us would have turned our noses up at.

Think that’s certainly true if you’re starting with no other players and filling every vacancy with mid table players.

However if you have players throughout the team who are amongst the best in the division but gaps in the first eleven or squad where certain positions are occupied by ‘bottom table championship players’ then filling those gaps with better players lifts the team.

Bidwell > Fox

Vaulkes/Morsy > Joey

Odubajo > Palmer

Those three positions/players being upgraded makes our overall team / squad much better than last term despite their potential replacements being mid table players as you put it.

Bidwell was a decent player, but the last couple of season’s, he’s been pretty average A move might just kick start his career Had hoped we’d bring in a young flyer, perhaps on loan, for the left back role There are some outstanding young left backs in the Premier League, who might be available for loan

Like who Guru...........genuine question, not trying to be obtuse.

spot on, matthews would make more sense but probably at a cost, so I guess there's a balance to be made

So when do the fixtures come out so we can find out which Tuesday night we play Millwall away . Not played them on a Saturday since 2005. QPR is as bad it makes you wonder what the people at the EFL are on or is it just laziness.

Obligatory highlights video? Oh go on then

Looks like he'd be our best player if we landed him from those highlight videos. So from that, I can safely draw two conclusion:

-If we sign him, the highlights will be super deceptive and in reality he's naff

-If we don't sign him, the highlights will be prophetic and he'll be one of the league's best players

Remember Nejc Pecnik's youtube highlights

WTF:

Ah yes, another player who looks like a world beater playing in empty athletics stadiums in a game that looks like football but in which nobody puts in a tackle. Pecnik looked like Waddle, Sergi Bus looked like Lineker and I honestly thought Big Dave was the result of an experiment of DNA taken from Jan Kohler and Marco Van Basten.

On the subject of highlights videos, remember watching the one for Joao when some people reckoned we were signing the next Didier Drogba - that turned out well!

That one too.
