TheEnchanter
In regards to Thorniley and Penney for that matter. Both did well without having Westwood behind them and they were both in an unhappy, split squad, negative regime with Jos at the helm. I'm sure both can thrive under Bruce. Whilst the likes of Carragher have proven that it’s possible to reach the top without these attributes, you have to be outstanding and therefore the odds drastically reduce. Therefore, whilst I think Thorniley will have a professional career, I am struggling to see that being at Championship level or above. He has certainly not yet shown that he is ready to be a first team regular at Championship level. Also, this isn’t some young pup, he’s 23 in November. Couldn’t disagree more, the lad is strong as an ox and his runs in the side for me have shown he’s more than capable of been a regular at this level Thorniley is a good player
Guest wilyfox
He is a good player, and that's why I'm surprised we're in for two more left-sided centre-halves. We only really need one good one to lead with Thorniley his cover and competition.

Bluesteel
Thorniley started to really thrive last season. Brought the ball out from the back confidently. Was surprised Bruce didn’t give him a game in the last couple of fixtures.

Taller than George Baldock for pigs, but I see what your saying, has he got the attributes to a be a CB....or is he good enough for LB. We shall see. Guest wilyfox
Unless we do switch to 3 at the back as Bruce commented on when he took over, but that creates a problem in specialist wing-back positions and would render Palmer's new contract offer pointless because he isn't one. To be fair not many give him much chance at full back either did they. He may surprise if forced into the role.

Findlay has been a very good player in a Killie team that has punched way above its weight this season. Like McKenna and Southar ?

Happy with Palmer as a full-back option as he's been defensively sound of late, but a wing-back he definitely is not. I dont think he will be used as a wing back as I dont think we will even play with them. But after his performances this season if Bruce did trust him in the role then I would be willing to give him a chance. If Bruce trusts him there then he must be seeing something now we have not for 6 years.
gurujuan
I hope we don’t switch to three at the back, but if we do, I hope it’s with the diamond in the middle. We would need a prolific mobile number 9 though Edited May 22, 2019 by gurujuan
jamese
I don’t see or get the big need about left or right footed/sided centre backs. Hector is right footed and played the majority of games on the left of the 2 and it didn’t seem to have any impact. Good centre backs can play either side, regardless of what foot they predominantly use.

Yeah.................we really struggled during the 90,s with Pearson , Shirtliff , Anderson and Warhurst..............all right footed.
