malek
Would love to see us take a look at Dundee United's prodigy Scott Banks. Watched him in both cup games this season, and he looks like someone who can have great career in the game.
SallyCinnamon
Bruce said 4 more loan signings before he left for Newcastle. Be nice if we could somehow pull this off. CB, LB, CM, LW Hector and Aarons on loan would be great again. Would love Trevor Chalobah on loan too.
lincolnowl
Only just seen Blackburn Rovers spent £5m on Sam Gallagher. Remind which club club is well run again?
lincolnowl
Great, Malek’s about to recommend every player U21 in the country that he knows everyone here will have to google. Exactly what you love to see right now. 1

Agreed, but as a selling club (which is what many on here want us to be) the best time to sell a player is when he's unplayable. I don't believe the typical owlstalker (if there is such a thing) will accept us selling our better players and replacing with "players with potential". Just imagine, Rhodes* starts the season on fire, 10-15 goals by Christmas, and sold in Jan... *Replace Rhodes with Joao or Fletcher or Reach or whoever. modboy
If we had the same squad that had finished last year we'd be pushing a playoff spot. Problem is we've lost our best player and gladiator.

swfc1983
Reyt embargo lifted this thread is officially back in business. Smash it DC....conservatively of course...we wouldn’t want to upset Mr Gibson too much would we.

Exactly, Could just see it: Told Bob: Sell him, we need to be a selling club. DC: We have sold him for £12 million pound. Told Bob: What did you sell him for, he's our best player! Ridiculous decision. BTW, No idea who Told Bob is.....Apologies to anyone called Told Bob, no offence intended.

Yea exactly its absolutely mental, if he can go for 5 million that should be the minimum DC sells Joao for
Quist
if report about us not paying new manager anything like same wage as Bruce and reason we are finding it hard to recruit manager and why we are going abroad it suggests we will not be making any permanent signings. I get the feeling loan signings were largely lined up before Bruce quit and DC is hoping to bring these in regardless. WE may have paid more for Bruce but at least we made money out of him. Getting cheap foreign manager is not a money saver it is bad long term management/

Its not. its still a three year cycle they have to adhere to. They can sign a £7m target because they sold Jota and Adams for much more.
