Is it a possibility that Bruce is not happy with the way things are progressing off the field ie DC over estimating players values, ffp still not sorted so not giving us a fair chance of a top 6 place and that could be why he's talking to Newcastle aswell as the crap about it being his dream job!

Bruce said himself it would take a number of windows to sort things out. It's a bit of a stretch for him to leave now because it's not all happened in this one ( and there's still 3 weeks to go).

Our depth is absolutely fine, like you say it's just about getting the right people in and establishing a balance that our depth can then complement. A highly, highly focussed recruitment strategy needs to be implemented in the next 3 weeks... I honestly believe it could make about 6 league places worth of difference with the right 2/3 signings.

Unfortunately, that's ruddy difficult when we don't know who the manager is going to be in three days' time...

Agree with much of this. Remember Bruce brought in scouts at least 2 and judging by 3 recruits so far not done a bad job. Presumably intelligence they have gathered will be available to club.

If you get coach who is very different to Bruce it will be a problem.

It is the most horrible time to lose a manager and for Newcastle to try and play cry baby about price is disgusting. Be far easier if Bruce stays other wise makes it so difficult.

I probably wouldn’t take a risk on him now due to his fitness but Alan Judge was a quality player, someone we should’ve signed when we were flush

He had an Ipswich player go through his leg, hardly anything he could do about it.

I don't think he is particularly injury prone generally though.

Yes, but he aint getting any younger, and there is big question if after couple of horiffic injuries he can come back as good as he once was.

Remember he was worth 5-6 million before he was injured.

Left back, centre mid, winger, centre back still needed for a challenge.

Also need to trim the squad. A striker needs to leave, and be nice to see Van Aken and Baker moved on in some shape or form - neither I think are good enough.

Hector is the obvious choice at centre back. Bruce going will no doubt put an end to the possibility of Aarons and Lazaar rejoining us. Unless they can be used in the compensation package? Personally don’t want either, showed flashes but both injury prone. Also if Bruce goes can’t see Onomah coming back.

Would rather we sign a ball winner in the middle rather than McEachran. Trevor Chalobah on loan would be my choice.

Carlos tried to sign both Dunk and Maguire whilst at Wednesday apparently. How did we end up with Van Aken.

lol

We could've had a £125M pound defence but along with the 200 others he looked at they probably weren't good enough for Carlos.

Think the point he was trying to make is that the club couldn’t get them over the line for him. Nevertheless, he was asking a lot to poach Dunk from promotion rivals at the time. They’d never have sold him to us.

The fact that one is now worth 45m and the other 80m tells you how we didn't manage to get any deals over the line.

The point is that while in The Championship we can hardly affordt to sign these players, we must spot them early and develop them. Goes against our ethos, as we are so reluctant to play and develop youngsters.

I believe we were in League One at the time we first got linked with Maguire and people on here said he wasn't good enough for League One, but same was said about Whelan and Brunt as well.

Us fans seem to be very hard lot to please...

Need to get amongst the premier league U23 squads, shift a few of these strikers and lets have a young lad like Nmecha at City or Rhian Brewster in

All the usual Chelsea kids aswell, liked the look of Izzy Brown but struggled at Leeds and think Lewis Baker and Kasey Palmer available again
