Not the team for Saturday, but in general, what do we think will be the favoured 11 for Steve Bruce?

I'd go:

If Hooper ever gets fit I would love to see him back in the team.

I'd wait and see what Brucie thinks. That's what DC is paying him for.

Yep very much how I'd be expecting us to shape up. 3-5-2 has been Bruce's favoured formation for years.

Actually works for us seeing as we lack any good wingers, and now these wing back lads coming in.

Might be Joao/Nuhiu over FF and Westwood in net. Interested to see how Aarons fits in if we do play this way, presumably a striker or wing back?

Looks good on paper that team.

Would be interesting to see the defence though as Lazaar and Iorfa are probably better going forward than they are defending.

I agree with this, expect to see a lot more of Onomah over the next few months Bruce is a big fan of his and tried to re sign him at villa during the summer.

This is likely to be our best 11, unless Joao can force his way in.

i know newcastle fans have slated Lazaar but he’s hardly played for them and hopefully Bruce sees something there that Benitez hasn’t.

I hope in due course he'll be aiming for something like this (ignoring any long-term injured for now):

*couldn't be bothered doing mad shirt numbers

Good side IMO.

I really think the injection of pace is going to hugely help us all over the pitch.

It will create more space for us and it should enable us to be more attaching.

We’ve been crying out for some pace for a long time now and it’s exciting that Bruce clearly agrees, so even if our new signings aren’t for the long term, we can expect replacements if they don’t stay or work out.
