Also believe it or not, some people are not on Owlstalk 24/7 waiting to comment.

Let me get this straight

You're trying to suggest that some people have one of those social life thingies

Nah, not having that

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

It's more disturbing than that.

I've  heard that one or two on here go to football matches.

The only use Danny Murphy has is if they ever do a Dan Dare film.

F*cker can play the Mekon.

He's more like a Klingon, the type you get after a dodgy curry!

Aah, so it was Teresa May that put Danny Murphy up to it. Explains a lot.

Aside from the crassness of his comments I felt Gullit was out to intimidate Alex Scott on live tv.

You could see she was shaken by his tactics but respect to her, she stood her ground and professionally backed up her point of view.

He just looked like a bully and has gone down in my estimation big time.

Thought we'd got rid of such ends of bells©

I should be charging royalties for using this. But you can have this one on the house.

Perhaps in hindsight we would have been best keeping his appointment under wraps until nearer the time, letting Bullen carry on as caretaker.

I think us Wednesdayites pretty much unanimously agree that Bruce is more than entitled to honor his family commitments, there was always a danger the media would jump on this (especially if results went badly in the meantime)

It's already been blown out of proportion but hopefully this doesn't go any further now, and Bruce lets his work do the talking when he takes over later this week

Agree re Bullen - he’s no Fergie but got the team playing reasonably well.

Agnew wasn’t really up to it - talked a good game but too defensive and couldn’t get the team to deliver. Hope he isn’t too close to things when Bruce gets going.

Bruce was also still under terms with Villa too so it’s all largely academic.

Personally I’m glad he has had a break and taken the time he needed - he’ll be fresh when he starts wich can only be a good thing.
