Chelsea - V - Wednesday FA Cup OMDT

Recommended Posts

Chelsea are Chelsea of course but tonight’s performance has shown up an awful lot of our faults. Our full-backs are w@nk both defensively and offensively. We’ve got no physical presence in the middle of the park. We rely too much on Bannan to orchestrate things when he has sod all options in front of him 90% of the time. Also Adam Reach is one of the most overrated players I’ve ever seen in a Wednesday Shirt. Apart from the odd worldie, what does he really offer? He just runs around like an headless chicken most of the time. Brucie has got a massive task on his hands.

Just a very poor performance from us. Really would have thought the players would have wanted to impress but as per they don’t turn up.

I thought the players worked hard for the most part. It's Agnew's tactics/formation and team selection that were at fault. Should have started with one or two more attack minded players and had a go.

You don’t have your most dangerous attacking players on the bench against Chelsea unless you aren’t interested in making a game if it.

If we would have attacked this Chelsea team from the off it would have probably have been six or seven.

Teams like Bournemouth do this all the time and they normally end up with a hiding.

We just have to unfortunately accept that this is our level at the moment and the top teams and players in the premier league are streets ahead.

Regardless of effort, our tactics from the start were way too negative. I know its Chelsea, but this could've been very different.

It’s a tough one

How happy would we have been if this approach had worked and we were all clamouring for tickets for the replay at home?

If we’d have gone for it and got beaten 7-0 people would have complained a out that too.

Im still convinced that the dodgy decision cost us, altered our shape and we lost our discipline. The game was over at that point

Tom Lees did that against Luton.  Shall we get rid of him too?  No, because he's perfectly competent for the level we're at.

I'm not saying Fox is the best defender in the league, and yes ideally we'd have better but he's done well recently and to hammer him based on his performance against a top 4 premier League side is massively unfair imo.

And that's all it is at the end of the day, peoples different opinions

We wouldn't have needed to attack from the off. We would have been better going forward.
