Oppositions fans in the home end at Hillsborough

Out of interest, is there ever segregation for games with more travelling fans? Say when Vancouver play Seattle or the two LA teams play each other.

Hey Groundhopping - Yes the MLS requires each club to provide a segregated section.

In Vancouver this is only used for Portland and Seattle games - they bring bus/car loads of fans (which is why we get upset when MLS schedules these games mid week - which they have now stopped).

If you are travelling as part of the "supporters group" you are told to arrive early - and you are also held back about 30 minutes at end of game.   I think this is to allow the home fans get their first round in at the pub before the away fans come in to join them (honestly that's how it works)...

That being said, I just buy a ticket for the game somewhere else in the stadium and generally have no problems.  Any idiot home fans are usually dealt with by their fellow supporters.   Last season we went to Dallas - fans were great - I think my wife and I were part of about 10 fans that made it (it was 40C - hot hot hot).

I have lived in Canada since 1975 and have seen the sport explode into what it is today.  Went to early NASL games where UK players played to keep fit in the off season.  It's not like that now.   John Harkes was a big part of the early days of MLS and Beckham brought it to this next level.   Last seasons winner Atlanta would give a few Championship teams a run for their money - you can see the quality level change - the players Vancouver fielded in their 2011 first season would not break into the first team in 2019..

I think the "haters" over here that think MLS should be the same skill level as Premiership need to relax...  Football is in it's infancy in North America and I a for one am glad that the beautiful game is FINALLY getting going!   WAWAW

My Derby mates have been on the kop with us and my Forest/ Spurs/ Leeds and Chelsea mates as well. The Derby Lads were throwing snowballs at Pat Jennings with us...they still laugh about it

That's funny...  I remember the "hit em with yer handbag" comments about Jennings.  Don't know why we always said that but as a young lad it made me laugh...

Wolves promotion party ,one fan was sat in the south next to the kop they scored he celebrated and got a few punches for his troubles he was escorted out with a bloodied face not nice to witness but why didn’t he keep quiet !!!!! .

That was around the time I had a season ticket, on the left hand side of the kop.

If memory serves, he sat down and had an orange wolves coloured scarf on so immediately brought attention to himself and started dancing/celebrating when they scored. He looked a right scruffy oldish bloke

Im sure he had about 4 kids with him, maybe mistaken. There was another on the kop just behind us, not at wolves game.

It was the same game and it was a women with 4 kids sat directly behind me with the scarf trying to hide it.

She dissapeared at at half time and we thought she was the blokes missus.

i also ran into the pitch and asked joleon lescott  for his shirt at the end of the game......... he said no as he needed it for the play offs
