Corner flag executive suite at Tottenham in January 2000, Entertaining clients.

Alexandersson scored the winner and I went barmy on the terrace outside the suite, I put it down to too many glasses of Red. It seemed like half the stand below turned around and gave me abuse. Even the host which was Graham Roberts in the suite commented on the chances of me getting out alive after the game. Took full advantage of the free bar to celebrate the win and the clients were happy as they all supported West Ham.

Happy memories.

Same for me and sat in the same place either the year before or after when we won again.

i was the only Yorkshireman around me. Bloke whose guest I was, he was Scottish, Norwegians, Irish and all sorts everywhere.

think it was fairly obvious who I was supporting but I didn’t feel particularly threatened ( I had had a couple).

And at Anfield.

Went with the Shakey and the tickets supposedly had been sorted...they weren’t.

queued up at ticket office and two of us finished up 2nd row back, 3 seats from the Kop.

luckily we lost 3-0 in the cup.

we were ok despite not celebrating any of the goals.

BTW it was carnage before and after the match.

Leeds when Andy Booth scored a header in that great start to the season we had. A number of fellow Owls couldn’t resist it behind us and got ejected.

(will be with mates who are Chelsea on Sunday)

I was on Leeds Revie Stand for that and had Booth for first scorer, very difficult keeping quiet.

Done the Lane twice on their end, South Stand for the 1991 0-2 defeat, a shame we didn’t score as there were loads of “faces” sat behind me at the kop end. Also did the 2-2 when Beattie equalised, sat upper BL end and witnessed the bottles of wee wee lined up in the toilets. Been on Villas end, QPR end when we’ve played them.

Semi final against united at Wembley, I had a ticket no problem, got my mate a ticket in united end through someone at work.

Plenty of drinks before the game then he pipes up that he thinks it’s a bad move and won’t go in the united end. I give him the speal about no problem sit on your hands etc. I then to prove a point swop tickets with him, way too wasted to even think about it or what state I was in.

Waddle scores in 90s, I jump up like a mentalist and then get some not so friendly attention. Moved within 3 minutes to first row near corner flag at Wednesday end.

I still claim to hold the Wembley record. Wouldn’t dream of doing it now as a little older and wiser. Great day

Was in Forest end when we won 3-0 a couple of seasons ago. We played some great stuff that day and Forest couldn't handle us at times. Managed to keep in in until the 3rd when i stood up, fortunately a few forest fans did as well to have a go at them.

After the match I stayed to watch the team walk off and as they approached the tunnel there were a fair few clapping them off and cheering them, so suppose there was a few Wednesday in there that day.

Did that include an appearance from the lesser spotted Abdi?!

Leicester early 80s,had a a bit of bova before game in a pub, went in there end(side),there lads from pub spotted us and it kicked off.

Got escorted round to away end via edge of pitch,Wednesday won, had a good drink in Ripley on way home.

Got home and got a right crack of my father ,who had seen game on match of day and saw me and my mates with bobbies.

Did away ends alot in 80s early 90s,when it was standing, but its too uncomfortable when allocated seats now.

Palace away and Charlton away (cup) in the mid-nineties. I was barely a teenager so kept very quiet. Not that I had much to cheer about - we lost both matches. Both horrible experiences. Vowed never to sit with the wrong fans again.

Been in the home ends a few times. On 3 occasions Its been interesting.

91/92 season away v Blunts. I was sat in their south stand towards their kop. As luck would have it there were quite a few Wednesday sat around me.

Same season, the league cup QF away at Ipswich. There were about 10 of us in their side stand ( opposite Wednesday fans) I don’t think the locals appreciated us celebrating our goal (Sheridan I think) that night.

Same season again v Arsenal away ( when Bould bust Hirstys ankle) I was actually in their family section and it was right next to the Norrh bank ( to my left) in the lower tier. It’s fair to say I made my feelings known about his tackle. Only one person made any comment towards me.

the 40 years I lived away from south Yorkshire meant I had to go on many a home end …..most were no bother if I jumped up when we scored but I never pushed my luck at millwall , the 4-4 cup game wasn't a easy game for me .

Me too, the thing I always remember was Navas getting pelters for being boo-bar. I'm thinking he cost £15m and we've got Jaques Maghoma

Imagine there'll be a fair few Wednesdayites amongst the Japanese tourists in the home end this Sunday.

Whats the most exciting/stressful match where you've had to sit on your hands in the home end?

For me it was this one which at the time was a relegation decider.  We won, both teams missed penalties, and Leon Clarke scored a last minute chip to seal survival and I had to hide my grins as angry Leicester fans walked out all around me: https://www.11v11.com/matches/leicester-city-v-sheffield-wednesday-26-april-2008-281220/

Cracking thread.

I was lucky enough to be with our 3000 that day in the corner but my mate and his missus were sat to our right behind their goal where Leon scored the late dipping clincher.

Unreal game, amazing emotional extremes.

I'm sure Sluzarski played in that one and missed or scored a pen?

Leeds when we beat them 3-2 three good goals from Tudgay, Brunt, and JJ.

Very hard trying to look disappointed as they flew in, espescially Brunt's beauty.

I was stood bang behind the goal (to the left) that day with the great late Wolfmanjack (Jezz)

He recognised two of the Arctic Monkeys bang behind us, i then felt a bit guilty as i had been shouting "Woody, Woody, Woody, Woody!" to the Kaiser Chiefs song "Ruby, Ruby...."

We were coasting in that game and nearly threw it away.

For me the build up to the JJ goal and finish nearly eclipsed Brunt's outrageous effort.

Wasn't you was it?

Sat in the John street stand at the Sty with a couple of mates. Behind the Blunts Bumming Club. Hirsty scored and all the Blunts were going apeshit at him. I joined in shouting "Oi Hirsty you pit rat.......put another f@cker in". It got a little uncomfortable after that.

I was bang opposite you.

Also Ipswich away when Nigel Pearson scored the winner, think it was the season we won the league cup. I'd backed Pearson at 50/1 to score the first goal, 2 quid on. A decent return in those days. Anyway, Ipswich fans didn't mind us celebrating.

Also been in Forest home end with a Forest supporting mate. We won 1-0 and I think I stood up when we scored , got a few looks but nothing happened.

Didn't we beat them 2-0 at theirs the season we won the cup?

Will never forget that game.

I'm sure it was Hirsty and Wilson that day?

Took 7000 fans with loads more in home ends.

Was telling us about it the following morning in the changing room as i was slapping ralgex on.

Wasn't at that but did drive a couple of mates down to White Hart Lane in the late 80s for a midweek game.

Hadn't been driving long but Eustace had been sacked and we had just managed to get Big Ron in so we were all excited and paid at the gates for their end.

Game was the most boring 0-0 i have ever seen and i remember in the second half one of their lot behind us shouting "Cam on Wednesday, open up a bit!"

Great point at that time.

3-0?

Is that the night we took 15,000?

Was an unbelievable atmosphere to an early teen.

I just remember the giant milk bottle on the centre circle and their dark green baize pitch compared to our quagmire in the 2-2 first game (49,000)

We sang "We'll be back again next year!" and we were, got promoted and best 'em 2-0 at theirs.

"Owls swoop at Anfield" - Ceefax headlines 1984/85

I still have the SWFC cola can/bottle i had to wee in on the coach.

Sat in their end in the noughties with mi cousin.

He asked me to take my Owl ring off as we were surrounded by Neanderthals, no chance.

I jumped up in last minute when Ashley Westwood equalised but quickly started to scream "fkin offside ref!" to try and cover my identity.

Nah he didn't play in the 3-0 game.

He was the season after when he scored in our 2-0 win.

I gave my ticket to a mate so sat in their home end with my ex, there were quite a few in that day smiling when Westwood saved their pen.

Funnily enough me and a mate went to Forest once and we weren't even playing them.

It was the season we eventually went down under big Ron but we looked fairly safe at one stage but we went down to support ther opposition, further who they were playing though, maybe Luton?

Anyway it was a Sunday and Franz Carr was back at their place after having played for us for a bit.

I'm sure we were on the end where we always stand now but I'm certain it was an open terrace?

There were ten of us that Sunday at the Lane, we were clear favourites so you knew what was gonna happen after Carlton hit the bar.

We were also in their Siuth stand with their kop to our right.

There were bloody tons of Wednesday around us and was so obvious when they scored as hundreds remained seated.

As for that Bstard Bould tackle, that was the beginning of the end for the Hirsty we knew.

At Rotherham (Millmoor) when we won 2-0 on New Years Day.

Not everybody could fit in the Directors box so they kept the three or four rows in front free and put people in there.

They’d been giving Wednesday some right hammer so when we scored I celebrated.  It was a “fizz you” kind of celebration where I deliberately let them know I was there with a big cheer.

I tell thee, they were not happy. I ended up with two stewards stood at the end of my row to stop them getting at me whilst explaining that they couldn’t throw me out because I was a guest of the President of the club.

To say that threw some fuel on the fire is an understatement.

Wednesday made it 2-0 with a few minutes to go.  I decided that was my time to exit whilst they tried to lynch me.  My hand was shaking as I ordered my pint in the corporate portakabin they had.

it was bloody brilliant!

Great stuff!

Was near you then, didn't Kuqi score and do his famous arm breaking chest dive?

I also seem to remember we had this ex Man City starlet playing up top but despite me willing him to do well it didn't work out.

Can't remember his name.

I think Kuqi got the first one.  I want to say Proudlock scored the second but that’s not matching up in my head.  Kuqi didn’t play much in League One, Proudlock didn’t play much in Championship.  Can’t remember which division it was in. I’m going to try and find it.

Lee Bradbury you’re thinking of.  It was him, Proudlock and Kuqi up front.  Maybe Proudlock played wide?

1st Jan 2003 it was.  We went down and looking at our starting XI against Rotherham I’m not surprised!

Pressman

Geary

Monk

Crane

Westwood

Proudlock

Soltvedt

Maclaren

Johnstone

Kuqi

Ah Bradbury that was him.

Jesus!

How the mind makes you forget.

Westwood and Crane, yep, no wonder we went down.

I don't know why but i always liked Sotvedt.

Always rated Geary too and i notice Quinn and Brondby weren't in the side that day, had they been injured as they were better than ther defence and midfield that day despite the result.

Turner cleared them both out at end of the season along with Geary and all 3 were United's main players the following season when they got promoted to the prem.

You couldn't make it up.
