It must be quite fun being a journalist when you can get away with stuff like this. Bit of passive grammar, no sources cited, and bosh, got yourself a news story. I imagine it went something like this:

 

*phone rings*

Steve Bruce: "Hello?"

Journalist: "You should sign Philipp Wollscheid. I am imploring you."

Steve Bruce: "I'm on holiday you tw@t." 

*line goes dead*

Journalist: "Boss! I've got that story you wanted!"

 

Quote

 

"Sheffield Wednesday have been urged to sign ex-Stoke City defender Philipp Wollscheid, who is a free agent following his release from Metz."


 

 

Boss: "You'll do for me, son. You'll do for me."
