If it's the former , he can't in all good conscience do the latter after his questionnaire regarding maintaining a competitive squad. The problem? What a stupid post. Clarity was needed 12 months ago. He believes we can go up this season and is gambling with an embargo based on this, poor leadership. Box_Man Posted January 17, 2019 Share Posted January 17, 2019 There are a few things in that statement that will get people’s backs up, He implied at the fans forum that supporter investment is a drop in the ocean compared to his investment which is true, however he also implied it didn’t make a difference how much fans put in, which you could say is also true given the levels of cash being hemmoraged currently. However he cannot seriously think after he has said all the above that a new fans scheme is going to generate any revenue at all?? I mean seriously why would anyone think that’s the way out of this mess....completely deluded. We are already paying as a fan base some of the highest prices in the EFL to watch an average side with a couple of good players. He has squandered millions, and seems like it was boom or bust over a three year plan with little foresight on year 4 & 5 and what to do if we didn’t go up. Well here's a thought, bare with: 1 Mr C could increase the match day ticket price to £50 all areas of the ground 2 Then he can access the club's database on fans who've bought match day tickets and season tickets for the previous 3 seasons to obtain their registered addresses. 3 He can work out the 32000 who've bought the most tickets and write to them with a personal cheque enclosed to value of £1150 (from him to them) for each of them to buy 23 home league match tickets at £50. 4) Cancel all existing season tickets and refund the pro rata value paid to each fan taking into account games already seen with their ticket. 5) Fans who've had their season tickets cancelled and costs reimbursed get match day tickets reserved in the same seats. 6) 32000 X £50 ticket generates £1.6m revenue per game (from home fans alone). Because the money is gifted from his personal money to each fan as a gift it is not part of the club's expense, when the fans buy the tickets it IS going to the club and therefore counts as Revenue. Are you for real? I don’t understand this mindset from some people. We had a couple of good seasons so we should be grateful and not criticise him. I think most of us fully expect and actually advocate selling players, as it’s necessary for the longevity of the club as a competitor. Mr Chansiri has chosen to ignore offers for players and insist we’re not a selling club, which in turn has heavily contributed to the position we find ourselves in now. Find it hard that he says that he invested the money to simply stay in the Champs when we were in and around the play offs for two seasons and then says that promotion this season is the only clear way out of our mess? We haven't even got a competitive squad to start with Bit of a mess eh? Good point, we spent big on the wrong type of players and we are now left with a squad, bar 3 or 4 players, full of poo . We can't give away most, the only option selling one of the few decent players and running down the contracts of others. Releasing all out of contract players in the summer will be a start. DC is right, you have to spend in this league just to stand still, we've not done that very well, but the whole FFP/P&S nonsense as it stands is ridiculous. The loss limit needs scrapping or increasing to a realistic level in line with inflated costs within the game. The inflated costs by the way down to the EFL in allowing relegated clubs free licence to go mental with parachute money, with no similar controls or sanctions.
