Chairman’s statement

So in January 2016, with 50 points on the board he decided  to sign Rhodes for a £10m fee and gave him a £10m contract to avoid a relegation scrap....

Either he is an idiot or he thinks that the fans are idiots...

It's bullshiit like this that loses him credibility.

I'm not a regular on here...

The biggest mistake the club and the chairman made was signing any deal with Doyen Sports Investment and allowing them to put Amadeu Paixao inside the club.

I've done my best to get this message out since 2015. The chairman is a good guy but he's listening to the wrong people. He needs PROPER people with him.

Most likely a come and buy some players message to other clubs. As there’s no way fans can help fix the financial problem by March. We probably haven’t had any bids yet this month so Chansiri has put out a public message aimed at the fans, for others to hear

I knew this would be the case when I bought our club. I could have made a profit in the Championship already if I really wanted to by not buying the players or buying players and selling them for much more.

To me that bit above is his biggest problem, you have to sell players to stay within the rules every club in the Championship does it . I would take selling Reach or Bannan or both this Jan (obv if we had buyers ) if it means we would clear the problem .

Haven’t read 20 pages but there is a simple solution - sell some players ffs.

£10m for Reach would be a big step in the right direction.

He needs to learn that selling assets when they have increased in value is part of a smart strategy for any club.

We never seem to learn on this front. Been same for decades.

This. His plan is fatally flawed in my view.

Buying expensive ex Premier league players at the wrong age, on big wages, with no resale value, and never selling anybody else, is the quickest route to an embargo and relegation.

Wake up Mr Chairman. Get rid of whoever is advising you.

This statement is the complete opposite end of the scale to his first!! His first said the club had a 3 year promotion plan and it would be done in the right way.

just to add, it was only 4/5 weeks ago that he says the fans contribute nothing towards th running of the club and the club would continue to run without us...now the begging bowl is out??

No one can fault DC for desire, effort and sheer loyalty to the cause but let’s be brutally honest...he’s made a mess of a lot of things hasn’t he??

I seem to remember something similar was reported as being said

No fan really wants their club to sell their valuable assets but that is the way forward now in football. It pains me to say this but we needs to sell to balance the books and, if possible, bring in new players to develop and sell on.

It’s the way football is now, IF like most clubs you are ran by imbeciles

Chansiri in 2015:

"I have reviewed every aspect of the club in a bid to achieve the promotion we all desire and continue to do so on an everyday basis."

"In the bigger picture, if we are to achieve our ultimate aim of promotion, we must embark on this journey together."

"I can assure every single supporter that I will give everything it takes where possible to take Sheffield Wednesday back into the Premier League"

He told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We want to be back for our anniversary."

Chansiri added: "We will do whatever is appropriate to invest in the club to get them to the Premier League."

-----------------------------------

Chansiri in 2019:

"Many people have suggested that I invested the amount of money I did – and continue to do – in order to achieve promotion to the Premier League. But this is not correct. I invested these sums to stay in the Championship, to ensure we would have the best chance of avoiding relegation."

:Chansiri:

I know a lot of fans have a love in for him and me not so but only a handful of people have even mentioned this.

If alarm bells weren’t ringing before with our situation of poor decisions, and they still aren’t now, then we really have no hope.

He's right though

"There are far too many people at Sheffield Wednesday who think they are experts who are really no experts at all "

I suggest he stops fookin' employing them

So wasting £40,000 a week on macmanaman was to make the free agents signing Wallace play better, presumably all the other loans and players signed to never play was to make sure the team performed better. Well it does seem to have worked very well.

We have made mistake after mistake for 4 years in recruitment and you continue to come out with this stuff. I give up good luck to you. As under DC things are going to get a lot worse.

Here you go again, the highest paid player at the club is on £35k so I've no idea how McManaman got 40, do you get your info from The Sun? :tango:

If he thinks us as fans can resolve FFP then he is deluded. Sell our assets (Bannan, Reach and FF) and buy promising players for a fraction.

I would love to know under what basis he got Bruce to sign that deal?

I am happy to offer my actual expertise as an accountant

Simple one

Don't employ a football manager that you then permit to allow expensive wasting assets to sit at home watching Cash in the Attic instead of playing

I had to drive about 200 miles around the country yesterday seeing clients to earn the money to then potentially give to you for you to then give to Almen Adbi. Sorry not playing that game anymore

Run your business in an efficient, cost effective manner like I have to and then I just might assist. No one will bail out my mistakes in running a business so I ain't helping you

Sounds to me that he’s putting all his eggs in brucies basket.

Good thing is Bruce knows this league and will wheel and deal.

Pretty sure Reach and POSs FF will be sold if the right money is offered.

That should buy us time and get some good loan players in through his contacts.

We’ll be rayt

Anyone know the difference between a ‘soft’ embargo and a ‘full’ one? Surely, if you’re screwed, you’re screwed?!

ive heard steve agnew say we keep our best players reach, bannan etc ,then bruce /agnew say we wanted a club to match our ambitions . well the above statement says that aint possible . if someone offers 15million for reach he has to go, then reinvest some or all of it ,clearly they wont be any fresh funds this summer ,maybe 2-3 loans or out of contract players ,yes we are losing 10 plus players in the summer most on silly money but we have over a 10 million shortfall in the accounts to avoid an embargo . 8 figures was quoted so 10 million is the lowest it can be. I can see bruce having face on before he even starts
