Does anyone remember our visit to the Potteries ( the Potteries :- Six little towns close together 20 odd miles south of Buxton. he largest of which are Stoke, Hanley and Burslem) November 1963 it was. My Dad wanted to drag me out of the old Victoria ground as with 5 minutes to go we were trailing 4-1 and the ground was emptying of Owls fans. "Bloody hell" says Dad as Pancho adds a second for the Owls. There were less than a dozen brave Owls in the ground as Bronco made it 4-3 and my Dad began to get excited. Pancho levelled and me and my Dad went crazy; But wait straight from the kick off Wednesday broke clear and Fantham hit one of his twenty yard pile drivers which incredibly denied us victory as the ball smacked against the cross bar.

WTF I hear you say, but no this was that Stoke game in reverse. Leading 4-1 in a poor season at Boothferry Park with about 20 minutes to go. Hull pulled one back. Then another and another. By the time we got our Stars on the Monday, it was a boxing day match BTW, Jackie Sinclair was still of the opinion that we had won 5-4.

Still no messing tomorrow Hulls run comes to an end !  UTO COME ON WEDNESDAY WAWAW

Sam Ellis with his twenty yard run up and toe end penalty kick.lol

Strange place Dull.....always remember back in the nineties being in the big car park after the game with a few mates looking for our coach when we was approached by a gang of about a dozen.... let's say special needs kids. I thought they was going to ask us if we could help them find there coach or summat like that but they were actually looking for bother.... "Your lot up fa a ruck" Me and my mates couldn't  do owt for laughing and luckily they got moved on by the rozzas otherwise we'd have had to go toe to toe with em....all a bit surreal.

0-1 today but I'd be happy with a draw.

I'm expecting to see a few tweaks from the new coaching staff today after a full week with the team.

SA has stated they want us to be more of an attacking threat so playing wide men and getting players and crosses into the box would be a good start.

1-2 (Fletch / winnall)

Heart says 0-4 to us. Head says 0-4 to us.  Am I doing this right ,rev lol  Going back to read it now.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Fame on Owlstalk or is it infamy?

Infamy,  infamy they've all got it infamy....

I hope you didn't stay up til 1:30am just to make that post to make that joke?

I'm impressed.

Yes you are doing it right apart from two things

1) 0-4 isn't a sensible prediction for either head or heart! ( We're Wednesday)

2) Head  / Heart  IS MY THING!!!!!!

lol

Official Head™ says disappointing 2-1

Official Heart™ says convincing 0-2

They've been on a good run and beaten some good teams, but at the end of the day it's Hull!

They lost last time out on the cup, so let's keep that run going for them into the league.

With a week of recovery and time on the training ground, want to see some improvement and feel it's more about how we approach this game. As long as we set up to impose ourselves and win the game, rather than just try and stop them with little or no attacking intent then I will see that as progress.

Difficult but winnable game, May be a return to our favourite scoreline of 1-2 to the Owls please today and 3 points coming back with us.
